Muscle Man Chasing Runner, also known as Muscles Make The Body Move, is an exploitable image macro series depicting a man running away from a skinless, muscle-exposed man behind him on a track. It’s typically used as an object labeling meme depicting someone running away from something with each of the men labeled as different things.

Origin

The photo was originally posted to Reddit[1] on May 1st, 2020, by Redditor 91594962 to the r/blursedimages sub. Uploaded under the title, “Blursed runner,” the post (seen below) received over 15,000 upvotes and 206 comments. Although the image first appeared online in the Reddit post, it appears to originate from a textbook, likely biology or anatomy. Much of the surrounding text has been removed or blurred out from the page, leaving only “Muscles make the body move.”

In the following days, the photo spread to several other subreddits and outside platforms, where users began using the image as a meme format. One of the earliest examples of a meme version can be found in a reply by Twitter[2] user 1PettySoul on May 2nd, 2020. Below a tweet from cloudyyxp_, 1PettySoul replied with an object labeling variant (shown below), receiving over 813 likes and 87 retweets.
