Gleaming Steel
Gleaming Steel

From what I've seen of his work, the dude's up there with people like stone-toss in terms of being a capable, effective cartoonist.

- Cleanly readable yet highly distinctive & identifiable art-style.

- Keeps the concepts short and simple

- Quite good at conveying his ideas visually

- No wordswordswords

The guy clearly understands that cartoons/comic strips are, above all else, a visual medium and is well above average at playing into the medium's strengths and working within its limitations.

Sure, it's not exactly a high bar for quality----but there's more than enough evidence on KYM alone (let alone places like badwebcomics wiki) that cartoonists who understand these things are the extreme exception, not the norm so I think it's worth calling out & acknowledging whenever there's an artist who actually gets these things right.
