Pile Driver Pounding refers to a viral video of an industrial pile driver hammering in a column at an oil site. Posted in October 2023 and circulated online, the video spawned a hornyposting meme format in July 2024 where it was used as a sex joke to imply that "pounding" would be done to various characters, typically displayed on the left side of the video as the machinery speeds up, slows down or stops entirely depending on the character being shown.
Origin
On October 17th, 2023, YouTube[1] user Janu Pakubumi posted a video of a column being hammered down by a diesel pile driver at an oil site. In the video, a worker can be seen lubricating the machine by spraying it with a liquid from a bottle. The upload (shown below) accumulated over 4.2 million views in 10 months.
Spread
The video was circulated online in the following months before it became a meme format. For example, on February 7th, 2024, Redditor ABeerForSasquatch posted the video to the /r/TheRandomest[2] subreddit, where it received over 640 upvotes in five months.
On July 23rd, X[3] user @CaptainPO2 posted a meme that utilized the video as a sex joke. In the meme, images of female Apex Legends were combined with the video going at different speeds (or stopping completely), indicating the level of the author's lust for each character. The upload (shown below) received over 3,800 reposts and 63,000 likes in one day.

In the following days, the video was used in more similar memes. On July 24th, 2024, X[4] user @BasedLIDA posted an edit in which the video was combined with images of female elf characters, with the upload (shown below) gaining over 2,600 reposts and 27,000 likes in one day.
