About
Oh No! Anyway is a memorable quote from the British television series Top Gear in which host Jeremy Clarkson feigns concerns before immediately moving on. Online, people use a two-panel reaction image macro of Clarkson saying the line to express a lack of sympathy.
Origin
On June 29th, 2008, the second episode of the eleventh season of Top Gear aired.[1] During the news segment of the show, co-host James May announced that the Dacia Sandero supermini automobile was delayed. Co-host Jeremy Clarkson reacted to the delay with a shocked “oh no,” then he dropped the subject to discuss a signpost campaign from the previous week (shown below).
On May 13th, 2020, Redditor Mormislaw posted the meme in the /r/teenagers[2] subreddit as a reaction to school responding to bullying. The post received more than 8,100 points (99% upvoted) in less than three months (shown below).
Spread
The format would later spread to other subreddits.
