Pride Makes My Bisexual Heart Sing, also known as Bisexual? Aren't You Married To a Man, refers to a three-panel webcomic about LGBTQ+ Pride Month showing a bisexual woman saying, "Pride makes my bisexual heart sing!" and a shitless bald guy responding, "Bisexual? Aren't you married to a man?" The woman is then shown in the last panel doing a disappointed inhale. The comic was created by artist Meg Adams (aka @artbymoga) and went viral on Instagram and Twitter / X in 2018, 2022 and 2024. It then became an exploitable and the subject of memes as users recaptioned the speech bubbles.

Origin

On June 1st, 2018, Instagram^[1] user @artbymoga posted a webcomic showing a bisexual woman talking to a shirtless, bald, purple guy. In the first panel, she says, "Whoo! Pride makes my bisexual heart sing!" to which the man replies, "Bisexual? But you're married to a man…" The woman then does a sharp inhale to portray disappointment or frustration. Over six years, the post received roughly 74,700 likes (shown below).

On June 21st, 2022, @artbymoga posted an updated version of the comic to Instagram,^[2] showing the same bisexual character exclaiming, "Pride makes my bisexual heart sing!" The man (not purple) responds, "Bisexual? Aren't you married to a man." The bi woman then inhales dramatically. Over two years, the post received roughly 64,600 likes (shown below). Also, @artbymoga posted the comic to X^[3] on the same day, where it received over 111,000 likes in a similar timeframe.

Spread

On June 1st, 2024, the X^[4] account @BiDotOrg posted the comic, tagging the artist and saying, "Happy #Pride!" The repost gained roughly 72,000 likes in four days (shown below, left).

Viral quotes of the tweet surfaced levying reactions, like some that centered on the naked appearance of the man. For instance, on June 2nd, 2024, X^[5] user @agrifuturism wrote, "When a nude man drops some biphobic nonsense <<<," receiving over 12,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).

Exploitable usage then followed, like a post shared by X^[6] user @doulbedoink on June 3rd, 2024, who crudely recaptioned the phrase "JUST FARTED," over the man's speech bubbles, receiving over 2,700 likes in two days (shown below).

Screenshots of the viral tweets were then reposted on Instagram.^[7]
