About
Razorbill or Alca Torda is a North Atlantic colonial seabird primarily black with a white underside. The bird's futuristic design gained viral attention on Twitter / X, Instagram and Facebook in 2024, mainly thanks to images and footage captured by wildlife photographer @roggio.wildlife. Later in April 2025 called by X user @SeeDaviGo a Cuntimal, a combination of the cunt slang and "animal," spawning more memes and fan arts about the animal.
Origin
One of the earliest known online discussions about the Razorbill's unique and sci-fi appearance was launched on December 16th, 2024, by the wildlife photographer @roggio.wildlife[1], who shared some footage and pictures of the animal, writing that "Their sharp, black beaks are particularly striking, featuring a distinct white line near the tip, which appears almost as if drawn by a designer’s pen. This unique feature adds to their high-tech, streamlined aesthetic." The post (seen below) garnered more than 176,000 likes in five months.
Spread
Going into 2025, the Razorbill's design inspired fan art, memes and jokes. For instance, on April 17th, 2025, X[2] user @SeeDaviGo called the bird a "Cuntimal," which is a combination of the queer slang cunt and "animal," amassing over 5 million views and 327,000 likes in a day.

On the same day, X[3] user @iRoyGBiv replied to @SeeDaviGo's tweet, humorously writing "That eyeliner is nasty" about the animal's design. The post (seen below) received more than 21,000 views and 1,000 likes in a day.
