Richard Spencer Big Forehead, also known as Big Head Richard Spencer and Conehead Richard Spencer, is a photoshopped image of American white supremacist and founder of the alt-right movement Richard Spencer made to look like he has a giant forehead similar to the Coneheads SNL sketch and movie. The image, along with many similar ones, trended across 4chan since its creation in 2017. The photoshops are predominantly used to make fun of Spencer and his supporters on various boards by contrasting his odd appearance against his white supremacist viewpoints based on his own genetics.

Origin

On May 29th, 2017, an anon on 4chan's /pol/ ^[1] board added to a thread about MAGA that included a photoshopped image of Richard Spencer with a large forehead in front of KKK klansmen and the tiki torch mob from the 2017 Unite the Right Rally (shown below).

On July 15th, 2017, a thread started on /pol/^[2] that asked, "Why does /pol/ hate Richard Spencer?" The thread received numerous replies, resulting in the sharing of the aforementioned KKK, "big forehead" photo by one pro-Spencer anon.^[3] Soon after on July 15th, a different anon added to the thread on /pol/^[4] with a four-panel image of Spencer with a big forehead, captioning it, "i mean reeeeeeeally, look at the shape of his head. dats not natural, is he from Chernobyl???????" (shown below).

On July 16th, 2017, a new thread started on /pol/^[5] that started with the four-panel image of Spencer's photoshopped forehead, captioned, "Why does Richard Spencer get so much hate?" The thread ultimately led to one anon saying, "wtf those images cant be real. Photoshopped?" to which one anon replied with a new Spencer big forehead image captioned, "nope…." (shown below).^[6]

Spread

Following the image's upload in July 2017, it spread to numerous 4chan boards in the following months. Additionally, more photoshops emerged either using the same image of Spencer or others like it. For instance, on November 1st, 2017, an anon posted to /pol/^[7] an image of Spencer with his face photoshopped to look small in his head (shown below, left). Within the thread, a different anon posted a photoshop that made Spencer have a long neck, a tuft of hair and lactating nipples beneath his T-shirt (shown below, right).

On January 8th, 2018, the image was uploaded to Imgur,^[8] titled, "Richard 'JustFuckMyShitUp' Spencer," gaining roughly 9,500 views in five years.
