Saul Goodman's Anime Girl Stance or Jimmy McGill's Anime Girl Stance is a frame from the Better Call Saul crime drama series in which protagonist Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk) is leaning his torso forward while folding his hands behind his back, a stance often taken by flirting female characters in manga and anime. In August 2022, the frame was used as a reference for redraws.
Origin
On February 9th, 2015, episode two "Mijo" of season one of Better Call Saul premiered.[1] One part of the episode if a montage of protagonist Jimmy McGill / Saul Goodman defending clients in court, which includes a shot of Jimmy leaning his torso forward while keeping his hands folded behind his back (scene shown below). The pose is known as Coy, Girlish Flirt Pose.[9]

On August 18th, 2022, Twitter[2] user @McWexlerrr posted a cropped image of Jimmy leaning forward, captioning it, "THIS ANIME SCHOOLGIRL ASS STANCE." The post gained over 2,800 retweets and 33,000 likes in one week (shown below, left). In the thread, Twitter[3][4] users @Blanked_Space and @JannikovGenosse replied with side-by-side images of Chainsaw Man character Makima and Doki Doki Literature Club character Monika holding the same pose, with the tweets gaining over 10 retweets and 460 likes and 40 retweets and 630 likes in one week, respectively (shown below, center and right).
Spread
On August 19th, 2022, Twitter[5] user @phosphoryIate quote tweeted a fan art of Makima in the same pose by artist @uid_00 with the frame, with the post gaining over 15,000 retweets and 106,000 likes.
On August 20th, 2022, Twitter[6] user @Teiky56 tweeted the image, captioning it with a reference to Monogatari. The post (shown below, left) received over 1,500 retweets and 8,700 likes in five days. Later that day, Twitter[7] user @JohnnySpittin posted the image, with the post gaining over 21,800 retweets and 236,000 likes (shown below, center). On August 22nd, Twitter[8] user @meemz_a posted the earliest found redraw of the image, a Monogatari redraw that gained over 900 retweets and 3,100 likes in two days (shown below, right).
In the following days, more comparison memes and redraws of the frame were shared online, primarily on Twitter.
