Sink Dog is an art piece of an anthropomorphic dog with a sink in its torso that was created by DeviantArt artist daleport996. The character has received several works of fan art since its creation in November of 2021.

Origin

On November 30th, 2021, Deviantart^[1] user daleport996 posted a drawing of an anthropomorphic dog with a sink in its torso laying back on a kitchen counter, is shown washing dishes using its built-in sink. While the artwork only received 268 favorites and over 14,000 views on DeviantArt in nearly two years, it was eposted to Tumblr by beautifulminduglythings on March 19th, 2022, where it received over 7,500 likes and over 4,300 reblogs in over one year.^[2] The artwork was also reposted to Twitter by andogyny later that same day where it received over 2,700 likes and over 850 retweets in over one year.^[3]

Spread

After the piece was reposted on Tumblr in 2022, it developed a fan art community that drew the dog in various scenarios. For example, on August 20th, 2023, Tumblr user dyke-donkey^[4] drew the dog watering plants, gaining over 3,100 notes in one year (shown below, left). On November 29th, user voorvore^[5] posted a piece fusing the dog and the Deathconsciousness album cover, gaining over 40 notes in six months (shown below, right).

While the piece's fandom generally congregated on Tumblr, it saw some spread on other social media platforms. For example, on March 14th, 2023, DeviantArt^[6] user darianfreaktipper posted a piece with the character, gaining 14 favorites in one year (shown below, left). On April 13th, artist D6016 posted a piece on the blog site Cohost^[7] (shown below, right).
