Overview
TwitLonger is a website that allows users to write text posts longer than 280 characters and post them to Twitter as a compressed link, essentially allowing users to post longer tweets. The website opened in 2008 and became increasingly popular throughout the 2010s and 2020s. It is often used by creators who find themselves in drama to share long-form allegations, clear up rumors and express themselves without worrying about Twitter's 280-character limit. In June 2022, Twitter announced their "Notes" feature, which will allow users to write longer note-style posts through the site, essentially offering an alternative to TwitLonger.
