The song was uploaded to YouTube in April 2017 and went viral on TikTok in late November through December 2022 as an original sound, inspiring a trend where TikTokers shitpost a viral video of each character displayed in a T-pose as the song plays. The song is similar to the SpongeBob SpongeBob, Patrick Patrick song.

Origin

On April 20th, 2017, YouTuber^[1] Michael Cusack posted a video titled "★★ CARTOON SONG★★ + EPIC Fails of APRIL 2017!!!!!!!!♥ ♥" that consists of low-resolution Family Guy images over an equally low-quality song where Peter Griffin repeats the names of characters from the show, garnering over 315,000 views in five years (shown below).

As early as September 30th, 2022, TikToker^[2] @soyface posted the song as an original sound. On November 5th, YouTuber^[3] DoctorGroose reuploaded the song, garnering over 65,000 views in a month. That month, @soyface's original sound started to see more regular use on TikTok in both general videos and videos referencing Family Guy. One of the earliest viral videos to use the sound is an animation posted by TikToker^[4] @cruxite on November 17th, 2022, in which a version of each character is shown over the lyrics, garnering over 1.7 million views in a month (shown below).

The original sound continued to become popularized throughout late November and early December 2022. On November 26th, 2022, TikToker^[5] @mr.beef09 posted a video in which animated T-posing versions of each character show as the lyrics play, garnering over 26,000 views in a month. On November 29th, TikToker^[6] @catalisztwithtophat posted a video in which they send the video to someone, garnering over 1.2 million views in three weeks. On December 1st, TikToker^[7] @caramelwrapple posted a video using the same character models, garnering over 1.7 million views in roughly the same span of time (shown below).

On December 10th, 2022, TikToker^[8] @antipierspirant posted a video doing the same thing with cookies baked to look like the Family Guy characters named in the song, garnering over 2.8 million views in nine days (shown below). On December 16th, Twitter^[9] user @ViCT0Rii posted, "If 'stewie, brian, lois. chris, meg, stewie. brian, stewie, chris. quagmire.' is your comfort video, open this thread 💖," followed by several videos using the song in the comments, garnering over 10,000 likes in three days.
