"Who The Fuck Starts A Conversation Like That? I Just Sat Down!" is a scene from the Family Guy episode "Tea Peter", which first aired on May 13th, 2012, depicting Quagmire starting a conversation with an obscure or unpleasant fact. The scene became an exploitable meme in which the opening line is replaced by other quotes. It is also used by itself as a reaction image.

Origin

In the episode,^[1] Peter tries to run an unlicensed pharmacy, which is quickly shut down by the local government. Peter then visits The Drunken Clam to cool off from his frustration. Quagmire starts the conversation with "Hey, you ever accidentally masturbate to young pictures of your mom?", to which Peter replies "Who the fuck starts a conversation like that? I just sat down!" (clip shown below).

On May 21st, 2021, Reddit user Solid_Snark posted the meme to r/PrequelMemes, but replaced Glenn Quagmire with Emperor Palpatine asking "Have you ever heard the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?". The post (shown below, left) has over 50,000 points.^[2] On June 17th, 2021, Reddit user Radical-Turkey posted the meme with the question "If Reddit has both live broadcasts and porn, do you think it also has live porn broadcasts?". The image received over 37,000 points (shown below, right).^[3]

On June 17th, 2021, SilentManJoe posted a YouTube video that recreates the scene using Team Fortress 2 characters Scout and Heavy. The video (shown below) has over 500,000 views.^[4]

On June 23rd, 2021, Reddit user Ehrenburger posted the meme to /r/Memes^[5] with Quagmire stating "100,000,001 can be divided by 17". The post (shown below, left), has over 18,000 points. On July 4th, 2021, Reddit user Eziopool posted the meme to r/Animemes^[6] asking "If Naruto made his 1000 clones fight each other, with chakra lightsabers in their hands, will it be 'the clone wars'?". The post received over 2,000 points (shown below, right).
