Drop Shipping refers to a retail business practice in which the seller accepts customer orders without keeping stock on hand and instead transfers the orders to a manufacturer or wholesaler who completes the transaction. Drop shipping became synonymous with the hustle culture side of TikTok in 2022 following many videos from young, male creators who advertised the practice and emphasized how it made them rich and changed their lives for the better. Parodies of drop shipping TikToks surfaced in late 2022 and memes speculated about whether or not drop shipping was a scam.
