Summrs' McDonald's McFlurry refers to a series of angry viral videos taken by rapper Summrs about his beef with McDonald's, specifically centered on McDonald's employees messing up his caramel McFlurry order on several occasions. His McFlurry rant was originally posted to his Instagram story in January 2023 and inspired memes on TikTok and elsewhere with many ironically stating that McDonald's was Summrs' biggest "opp."

Origin

On January 11th, 2023, TikToker^[1] sadprt posted a video that centered on a series of then-recent Instagram stories from Summrs that targeted McDonald's employees, including one story that read, "Hey, nobody told y'all work at McDonald's, so my shi right the first time n it won't be no problem. Thts y y'all work where y'all work cus y'all disobedient." The video received roughly 8,900 plays in 12 days (shown below).

On January 14th, 2023, Summrs posted a story to his Instagram^[2] account (@summrsxo) in which he was in a car with two McDonald's McFlurries. Summrs stated that McDonald's always messes up his McFlurry order, which involves caramel at the bottom of the cup and rim as well as an extra cup of caramel and an extra cup of Oreos on the side. The rant video was screen-recorded and posted to YouTube^[3] on January 14th by the channel Sleeping underground, gaining roughly 30,000 views and 1,200 likes in nine days (shown below).

Also on January 14th, 2023, a different screen recording of his Instagram story was posted by TikToker^[4] undergroudrantpage, gaining roughly 230,000 plays and 44,300 likes in nine days. On January 15th, 2023, the TikToker^[5] idontpickup posted a different screen recording from a then-recent Instagram story by Summrs in which he had just picked up the correct McFlurry order from a different McDonald's location. The video received roughly 412,100 plays and 87,000 likes in eight days (shown below).

Following Summrs' January 2023 Instagram stories and its viral reposts on TikTok, multiple memes involving Summrs' McFlurry rant surfaced on the platform and elsewhere. For instance, on January 16th, 2023, TikToker^[6] gimmiethosebeans posted a video with text overlay reading, "McDonald's workers when they see summrs in the drive thru asking for a Oreo McFlurry with caramel AGAIN," gaining roughly 244,600 plays and 62,900 likes in one week (shown below, left). On January 17th, 2023, TikToker^[7] bhoof posted a video stating that they purchased Summrs' McFlurry order and that it was good, gaining roughly 64,200 plays and 12,100 likes in six days (shown below, right).

On January 20th, 2023, the Instagram^[8] page dill.cheese posted a Summrs' McFlurry meme in a carousel post, gaining roughly 1,500 likes in three days (shown below, left). The Instagram^[9] account dill.cheese posted more memes, like one on January 22nd that was originally made by TikToker^[10] summrsrinolover, gaining roughly 1,200 likes in one day (shown below, right).
