The clip comes from an episode of the show Undertaker: The Last Ride that aired in May 2020. In October 2023, the clip became a reaction video on TikTok, typically following the phrasal template; "Dad what was X like?"


On May 17th, 2020, the second episode of Undertaker: The Last Ride aired on WWE. The episode contained a scene featuring an interview with Vince McMahon where he choked up while discussing The Undertaker. The clip can be accessed via reupload to Reddit[1] (seen below) at the 4:47 timestamp.

On October 21st, 2023, TikToker[2] @pain.cuhh posted the video with text reading, "Everytime I start to get better something else has to come and ruin it," gathering over 1.5 million plays and 276,500 likes in six days (seen below). The video is currently the first known usage of the template.

On October 25th, 2023, X[3] user @SavinTheBees posted the video with a caption about the COVID-19 Pandemic, reading, "Dad, how was gaming with the homies during covid lockdown?" The tweet gathered over 6.7 million views and 124,000 likes in two days (seen below). On October 26th, TikToker[4] @elitegamingcuts posted a copycat of the aforementioned tweet that received over 19 million views and 2.9 million likes in a day.

On October 26th, 2023, TikTok[5] page @bleacherreport posted the clip of Vince McMahon crying with a caption that read, "LeBron is almost 39, Steph is gonna turn 36, KD and Russ are 35, Harden is 34." The post gathered over 600,000 plays and 90,000 likes in a day (seen below, left). Also on October 26th, TikToker[6] @minute posted the clip with a caption that read, "When someone ask me about my favourite coworker that quit a while back," gathering over 1.8 million plays and 150,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).
