Wedding Thoughts vs. Boy Thoughts is an exploitable meme template in which an anime girl and boy are in a classroom doing a project while sitting at their desks. The girl is seen looking over at the boy while daydreaming about them being married together, with the boy's thoughts being the ones that are most often photoshopped, usually for comedic dissonance in how extreme of a difference there is between the two. The original illustration was made by aiu in May 2022, becoming a meme in the following months.

Origin

On May 3rd, 2022, Twitter user and artist aiu^[1] uploaded the original version of the unedited illustration to Twitter with the girl looking at the boy longing to marry him and the boy imagining the girl viscously eating him alive but still in love. The tweet gained over 67,000 likes in two months (shown below).

Spread

Almost immediately after it was shared on May 3rd, 2022, people began to edit the artwork to change what the boy was thinking of to other, humorous things. On May 22nd, the artist then took note of people using their art as a meme template when the Twitter account MP Psycho Gundam Enjoyer^[3] used the drawing to have the boy play the entire G Gundam opening in his head, earning over 130,000 likes in two months (shown below).

On May 23rd, Twitter user @Orchetrance^[2] uploaded an image that he called "the good ending" in which the boy's daydream matched the girls, with them both being happily married, earning 175 likes in two months (shown below).
