Ye Hao "Heat Stroke" Photoshoot Redraws refer to a series of promo pictures of Chinese model Ye Hao for GQ China in the June 2024 issue editorial titled “Heat Stroke.” The photo series by photographer Wintam and styled by Shawngao went viral in early July 2024 on Twitter / X, sparking fan art and redraws of the model as different anime characters.
Origin
On July 2nd, 2024, X[1] user @justice4glitter posted a collage of pictures from Ye Hao's "Heat Stroke" photoshoot for GQ China[2] in the June issue. MMScene[3] website explains the editorial, created by photographer Wintam and styled by Shawngao, explores the intensity of summer heat through bold styling and vibrant imagery, capturing the essence of sultry, sun-soaked days. The post (seen below) amassed over 9 million views and 199,000 likes in three days.
Spread
The photo shoot quickly went viral on X, sparking redraws based on Jujutsu Kaisen anime characters. For example, on July 4th, 2024, X[4] user @n06ara drew Satoru Gojo doing Ye Hao's "Heat Stroke" poses (seen below), which amassed more than 47,000 likes and 8,900 reposts in a day.
Also on July 4th, X[5] user @thekittyheart drew Ye Hao's poses featuring Midoryia and Bagukou from the My Hero Academia anime. The post (seen below, left) received more than 730 likes and 90 reposts in a day.
