About
Yo Guys It's Me, Charlie or Did That Guy Just Turn Into Sand? is a series of exploitable memes using a scene from the animated TV show Smiling Friends in season 3, episode 1, titled "Silly Samuel," in which Charlie walks into frame, announces his name, then comments on a building inspector who turns to sand and drifts away in the wind. The episode aired on October 5th, 2025, and a green-screen edit of the scene was uploaded by X / Twitter user @MurdoinkGS on October 6th, inspiring numerous memes where Charlie is placed into scenes from other shows and movies in which someone disintegrates into dust or sand, similar to Disintegration Effect memes.
Origin
On October 5th, 2025, the third season of Smiling Friends premiered on Adult Swim. The episode's B-plot sees an elderly building inspector visit the Smiling Friends HQ for an inspection. At the end of the inspection, Charlie and Pim return to the headquarters just in time to see the inspector turn to dust and drift away in the wind. Charlie first announces his presence, saying, "Yo guys, it's me, Charlie," then, "Hey, did that guy just turn into sand?"
