About
Yoda is a fictional character from the Star Wars series of films, television shows, comic books and other forms of media. In the films, Yoda is the Jedi master and leader of the Jedi council in the Star Wars prequels. Online, Yoda, as well his speech patterns, which typically reverse the syntax of traditional English speech have been the subject of numerous memes.
Origin
On May 21st, 1980, the first sequel to Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back was released in theaters. In the film, the character Luke Skywalker travels to Degobah to seek Yoda (portrayed by Mark Hamill and Frank Oz), a Jedi master.
Spread
Since the release of The Empire Strikes Back, Yoda has appeared in numerous live-action and animated Star Wars films, including the three prequel films, Star Wars: The Clone Wars film and television series and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Yodaspeak refers to a series of parodies of Yoda's backward syntax. The idea of imitating Yoda speak is of a pre-internet origin. On the internet, however, memes with Yoda begun to appear in May 2005 after the premiere of Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith. On June 23rd, 2005 the site yodaspeak.co.uk [1] launched.
Smooth Yoda
Smooth Yoda refers to photoshops of the character Yoda from the Star Wars films in which he is edited such that his wrinkles are removed. After appearing on Tumblr in late 2017, the characters saw further use on social media in the summer of 2018.
Yobama
Yobama is a portmanteau of "Yoda" and "Obama," which is commonly associated with a photoshopped face swap image combining the Star Wars character Yoda with the face of Barack Obama.
Lego Yoda Death Sound
The LEGO Yoda Death Sound refers to an audio clip taken from the video game Lego Star Wars: The Video Game, an adaptation of the Star Wars film series using LEGO-style animation and design. Online, the sound effect has been utilized in a series remixes, replacing the audio of dramatic scenes with the clip.

Yoda's Ketamine Addiction references a parody conversation had on Discord in which user yoda gaming claims to need the illegal drug ketamine in yodaspeak. The concept of Yoda's ketamine addiction took off in August 2019 in the subreddit r/LegoYoda where Redditors began posting image macros of Lego Yoda referencing ketamine.

There Is Another is a memorable quote uttered by the character Yoda in the film Star Wars: Episode V -- The Empire Strikes Back. It has since been used as a reaction image macro online.
