About
You Look Like A Dirty Pop-Tart refers to a rap song from YouTuber VuxVux, originally performed in a 2017 "Roblox Rap Battle" video in which he freestyled," You look like a dirty Pop-Tart. You look like you eat farts…" In the years that followed, the song trended on TikTok as a notable sound.
Origin
On July 5th, 2017, Roblox YouTuber VuxVux uploaded a YouTube[1] video titled, "INSANE BARS in ROBLOX RAP FREESTYLE (PART 1)," in which he entered a virtual rap freestyle competition, challenging strangers to lyricism battles. At the 2:24-minute mark, VuxVux entered a battle with user bryancolindres, starting his freestyle with, "You look like a dirty Pop-Tart" (shown below). Over the course of five years, the video received roughly 3.7 million views and 75,000 likes.
You look like a dirty Pop-Tart.
You look like you eat farts.
From the finish back to the start,
I tear the whole rap game apart.
You try to roll around acting real smart,
While I'm busy slinging your girl my dart.
Some say love-making's quite the art,
But F that boy, I'll never give them my heart.
Spread
On February 18th, 2018, the YouTube channel VuxVux Vevo reuploaded the isolated "Dirty Pop-Tart" clip, gaining roughly 156,800 views in four years (shown below, left). On February 27th, 2020, VuxVux posted the official music video for "DIRTY POPTART," featuring AyeYahZee. The aforementioned video included a variation of VuxVux's original "Dirty Pop-Tart" freestyle and over the course of two years, it received roughly 3.4 million views and 67,000 likes (shown below, right).
On January 19th, 2022, VuxVux uploaded the "Dirty Pop-Tart" clip to TikTok,[2] writing in text overlay, "Why is this so catchy," and receiving roughly 1.6 million plays and 176,000 likes in eight months (shown below, left). In September 2022, the sound trended en masse on the platform, mostly in memes that replaced the audio of rap music videos with the song, similar to the X Doesn't Need AutoTune trend. For instance, on September 18th, 2022, TikToker[3] kanyewestfan45 used as the audio for Kanye West and Lil Pump's song 'I Love It' in which they looked like Roblox characters. Over the course of nine days, the video received roughly 131,400 plays and 12,800 likes (shown below, right).
