And You Take the Moon is a remix meme based on the Cartoon Network animated series Chowder, the story of a hybrid cat-bear-rabbit-thing named Chowder, who works under Mung Daal as his apprentice. The show was known for its surrealism as well as its self-awareness.

Origin
The term "and you take the moon" originates from the theme song for the show which starts with Mung Daal singing "and you take the moon, and you take the sun."

SPREAD
On November 12, 2016, a user by the name of Little Yui uploaded a ten-hour long video of Mung Daal continually saying "and you take the moon." The meme had also been remixed with other media such as Despicable Me.
