Origin

Around the year 2019, memes jokingly referencing Sissy Hypnosis grew popular on iFunny. Memes using the visual template of a spiral and the phrasal template "You want to X, You want to X so bad" emerged following the popularity of the Sissy Hypnosis trend.

The earliest known notable post of a meme in this format was a January 3rd, 2020 post on iFunny^[1] by @animeabys_2019 (seen below).

On March 29th, 2020, various Tumblr^[2] users shared a since-deleted post that used the spiral format to say, "You want to shut up, you want to shut up so bad." On January 23rd, 2020, Instagram^[3] page @sugarycupid posted a version of the meme that gathered over 13,000 likes in three years (seen below, right).

On December 30th, 2021, Instagram^[4] page @bluescluesmafia posted a version of the meme that gathered over 1,900 likes in two years (seen below, left). A September 10th, 2023, post by @reactionpiccs^[5] gathered over 80,000 likes in two weeks (seen below, right).
