I do realize that, the show indeed starts out with her being born from a peach, I'd have to be an idiot not to realize that, so you don't need to point out the obvious to me. This joke follows on immediately after that scene, so I get the joke, the point the image is making is the, ahem, size of the splendid peaches. The show is crap, even by boob show standard

Alright, just making sure. I didn't know if you had actually seen the show itself or just the image, so I wanted to make the sure the context was there. Also, I agree with you, after watching roughly half of the first episode, that the show is pretty bland.

Boob shows are never good, but at least the jiggle physics provide some entertainment. How then did they make a show that boring? It has to be impossible

Terror in Resonance/Zankyou no Terror was fantastic, it was a fantastic show with great visuals and a very interesting story, can't wait to see more of it.

Glasslip's second episode was really more of the first, kinda dull, even with this whole time travel thingy. Come on P.A. Works, you're better than this.

Tokyo Ghoul was still awesome, but all the black screens are just making me love Akame ga Kill more. Like at the beginning of the episode, there's a scene where he is screaming, with the look of terror clear on his face. At least it would be, if the screen wasn't covering 90% of his face with black haze.

Highschool DxD and Monster Musume, when it inevitably gets a show, are both pretty good booby shows. Actually, I'd say Monster Musume is just a good comedy manga in general. So there are exceptions to the rule I suppose.

Just watching Tokyo ESP and I need confirmation that I'm not crazy

That is totally the GTA V advertisement for Michael in the top corner right? I'm not seeing things am I?

Other than that, Tokyo ESP is awesome, I love it

I don't like watching too much dark shit at once, and I am watching Akame and Tokyo Ghoul. how is Tokyo ESP? If its also dark, I'll pass… at least until the other two are finished.

Also, I found this little Akame ga kill video. Its raw, so I don't get it, but I still found it amusing.

Nah, it's about a girl who gets powers thanks to a flying glowing fish. She finds out she isn't the only one and decides to know more about her powers.

Classic manga/anime about a normal person who gets superpowers. It has a flying penguin and a shit ton of references to famous movies (lol master yoda) tho.

Anyway, you should give it a try.

@Akame raw

Did he call Leone "onee-san"?

About Glasslip

Um, I like where it's going. Slice of Life's aren't all about being exciting, at least the ones I've seen. I don't want the characters to go off on an adventure just yet. P.A.Works other Slice of Lifes are always slow to begin with, but develop into something that the viewer can really connect to. Countless times have I been drawn to tears, because I have an emotional connection with the characters. I also adore the visuals as always. Their other animes are calm and realistic, and potrays life so vividly and beautifully. That's what I love about these animes. Now maybe I'm defending Glasslip because I love P.A. Works so much, but I trust it'll be worth the time.

Well I think I've found my new recommendation this season. You need to do yourself a favour and watch Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun/Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, because it's one of the best shows on this season. Other than that, I think my second recommendation goes to Terror in Resonance/Zankyou no Terror, if the prospect of another Shinichiro Watanabe show hadn't already caught your interest.

I still can't get over the humor in Akame ga Kill, it seems so out of place in a dark setting. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I mean in the first scene Tatsumi is mourning his friends and then Leone pops out with the chest of hers.

Yeah, Akame's humour is NOT it's strong point at all, it's where it's shounen style gets especially shounen-y, and detracts from the overall mood. The action is where the show really is great. And Tatsumi is a mega derp, I will hold by that fact until he stops active like a naive little shit.

@stormtrooper
I just see it as the night raid being as morally dodgy as everyone else. They don't hate what they do or dwell on the deaths of the innocent, they are murders and psycopaths. Killing countless people, guilty or not, makes you lose a lot of your ability to empathize. That and akame is, at its core, a shonen.

It's definitely the best OP of the season thus far for me. It's not had much competition, to be fair, but even still. The show's super funny too, maybe the funniest outside of Space Dandy and Free.

On a separate note, I believe I've found the worst show of the season so far.

I'll save you the trouble of searching, the show's called Momo Kyun Sword

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Clearly you haven't seen the ACTUAL worst show of the season.

Pri Para: I got the second opinions. Seriously, this show is the worst anime I've seen in my life. NOTHING makes sense. The main character wants to get into Pri Para, because that's where you go to become an idol, but the MC doesn't even want to be an idol. THEN WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU GO THERE YOU STUPID BITCH??? Then, she finds a bag that belong to a fledgling idol and gets roped into doing a pair audition with her. SHE PERFORMS IT FUCKING PERFECTLY WITH NO PRACTICE. THAT CAN'T HAPPEN AT ALL! IT GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING ANY IDOL SHOW WILL TELL YOU! That's not the worst part. The idol who dropped her bag reveals that IT WAS ALL A PART OF HER DESIGN! WHY IS SHE AIZEN NOW? WHY IS ANY OF THIS HAPPENING?
I award this show no points, and may god have mercy on your soul. 0/10

and I've seen Momo Kyun Sword. They're on an adventure to gather the Shikon Jewel Shards peach fragments. It was honestly pretty mediocre, but I have a high ecchi tolerance. I went into this show expecting To Love Ru levels of ecchi, but it really wasn't THAT bad. Not to say there wasn't any. It had a substantial amount, unlike Rail Wars. I'd give it a 5/10.

I discovered what yaranaika is. God, this is some f**ked up world…
I'm yet again bored. New suggestions? Need something near 40 episodes (considering my new semester is starting soon).

Also: hunter x hunter new anime is so perfectly made. Netero fight was impressive.

I held off until seeing the episode to comment on this because its been awhile since I've read the first chapters.
Anyways, what exactly is wrong with Tatsumi? He is no more naive than Eren jeager, someone you always defend when I call him out for this, but he actually gets shit done instead of failing and the dwelling on said faliure, only to fail again, again, and again. They are both optimistic to a fault, but Tatsumi is nowhere near Eren in that regard. In episode 24, Eren spent half the episode unable to transform and save the fucking city because he couldn't kill Annie, someone who killed dozens of people including his friends.. Actually, I'm kind of interested to know where you felt Tatsumi went mega derp. Aside from calling the Night Raid "assassins of justice" or being so eager for his first mission, he did nothing wrong.

As for the humor. Eh, I'm fine with it. It gets a chuckle out of me pretty often.

So i went to watch this akame ga kill. This is pretty much how i reacted:

Oh big thing is going to kill them. Oh, the dude chopped it's arm off and killed it shortly after. Shame.
F**k you Tatsumi, nobody likes an Bragger.
Oh, he just another pervert. NICE!
Dumbass, she is stealing all your money… Boobs always trick pervy characters.
Trust boobs 2, she looks like a nice person. Mean anime characters don't look so nice.
The villain is chosen and his future friends (thx for info Opening) are wanted.
WTF Y YOU DO DIS TO NICE LADY? F**K YOU. oh fury boobs is part of the team.
He survived, barely. His friend is dead. This thing is dark, me gusta.
Wow, i was fucking wrong. She is not nice, not nice at all. Yes, kill her.
Now the other friend will die, for fuck sake.
Aaaaaaanddd he is part of the team.
His humor was to great for someone who lost his 2 close friends. Oh well, short time memory.

8/10. Must watch more, who needs sleep anyway.

Yeah, it's advertisement.

Fuck, Tokyo ESP is, literally, far more better from what I was expecting. I read the manga and I thought it was going to be more average, you know, classic superhero anime. So far is fantastic, and really well done. Man, even the design of the characters and the VAs are perfect. I can't waaaaaaaait.

Also, the first episode is already at the end of the "first" main arc of the manga; and damn Rinka looks fucking amazing.

The "assassin's of justice" and his eagerness are the main reason I hate him (add on his willingness to give all his money to a complete stranger in episode 1). Naiveté is my MAJOR pet peeve in characters, I abhor that trait with a passion. I've just been playing through Assassin's Creed 3, and I wanted to punch Connor for being so stupidly naive.

Eren is a completely different case. Annie was someone Eren called a friend until that moment, his reluctance shows how he is conflicted between his two aims, protecting his friends and killing all the titans. Annie was someone he could call a friend through all their years of training, you can't expect him to just turn around and want to kill Annie. Besides, Eren's naiveté isn't presented as a punch line, like the part of him we need to laugh at, it's presented in a much better way that comes about due to how much his life was falling around him. GOD HELP ME I'M NOT POSTING THAT JESUOTAKU VIDEO AGAIN.

@Loli
Maybe this is the whole expectations vs. reality thing again. The one that was hyped up (Akame) is the one I've been picking out the flaws on, the one you said was average (Tokyo ESP) is the one I'm currently in love with, and the one that was in the middle (Tokyo Ghoul) is the one that's in the middle for me.

@Random21

Eren is a completely different case.

Yeah, Eren is much worse.

The “assassin’s of justice” and his eagerness are the main reason I hate him

You come to a city with the hopes of making money to save your village. The city rejects you and turns out to be a rotting hell hole. Your friends are brutally killed by the people you trusted and you are saved by a group of assassins. What would you call them? Murders? I sure as hell wouldn't. I, as the reader, was completely on board with him. I thought they were the "good guys".
Eren has his reasons for being an insufferable shit, but he still is one.

you can’t expect him to just turn around and want to kill Annie.

Yes, yes you can. I could understand being hesitant for a bit, but seeing the destruction and death she had caused on top of what she was currently doing. Any normal person would at least try to stop her. Annie and Eren were not BFFs, they were fellow soldiers that trained together, but they spent no time after the training fighting along side.
Annie was only one of his many shortcomings and its not like she didn't train with everyone else. The manga handled this better though. The fact is that Tatsumi is more wary of the world around him than Eren in only the second episode. Tatsumi is the anti Eren. He may be Idealistic and naive, but he still does what needs to be done when the time arises.
Also, Tatsumi's naivete may be the punchline, but I prefer that to the drawn out internal monologues from Eren while he is trying to figure out what to do. Those slowed down the show so much, I almost dropped it half way. That killed the tension more than anything in Akame ga Kill, manga included. JesuOtaku is not absolute. She only offers opinions, and in this case, I won't be swayed. Its not like I don't "get" Eren, I do, and had it been handled better, I would like him. I think the fact that his internal monologues and indecisiveness were constantly used to draw out the story, and kill the tension, is why I can't stand him. Tatsumi is what I like from an MC, Eren is not.

@FredMK

It does.

Have you even been reading the thread.

To everyone else,

Akame is good, don't get me wrong. It's good to watch something that does not refrain from blood and death. And that blood and death with the colorful cast of characters don't exactly mix well.

In your opinion. Many disagree with that, loli and I for one. Of course, there are those who agree with you, so it's just a matter of taste.

I have no problem with the comedy. The way i see it's more present when leone is around and it fells like it'sactually part of her character, same could be said about tatsume and the other pevert dude(forgot his name). In the beggining (before it got dark) he was clueless about how terrible the city could be, but the facted he killed the "princess" without regret just show us he will be serious when needed (like the other night raid members or atleast i hope so).

Oh by the way, i read the first two chapters and they cut off a big part of the 2nd chapter. I recommend you to read it just to see how badass akame is.

He's just a spammer. It's weird, he was part of an old spam raid where a bunch of guys kept trying to force some stupid entry called mmmeme. This is his first activity is 2 years. I banned him.

Since I'm here, I finished Maid-sama!. Really good romantic comedy, you guys should check it out.

Anyway, I'm watching Kimi ni Todoke and is so beautiful 10/10. Another good love story.

So, last night I watched Satoshi Kon's Perfect Blue, which is about a J-Pop idol-turned-actress who's being pursued by the ghosts of her past, both figuratively in the form of doubts about her chosen career path and literally in the form of a murderous fanboy. And because it's a Kon film, it's a mindfuck, though not a drastically difficult one to figure out.

Last week I also introduced myself to Miyazaki, with Mononoke-hime, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle, all three of which I loved. I also started Masaaki Yuasa's Ping Pong the Animation, which I might not have explored if not for the interesting style it's drawn in. It's been a busy period.

New DBZ movie coming out next year:

Apparently it's gonna be based on a story arc that was gonna be in the manga, but was never made. Also, Toriyama is gonna be involved with this movie big time! Another epic movie so soon, I can't wait.

Also, apparently this is coming to Dragon Ball Heroes soon:

SSJ4 Broly…

Miyazaki is great, he really makes anime, beautiful.

If you know Miyazaki, he critisizes the modern anime industry. He said people in the industry "don't spend time watching real people" and can be characterized as "humans who can't stand looking at other humans." He then called the industry "full of otaku."

Link to the article

Say, this is a bit more relevant (or more noticeable) in long running animes….but don't you think it's strange sometimes just how much the quality of the animation can vary from episode to episode?

Or hell even within the same episode!

For instance, take this clip from an episode of One Piece….

At 6:48, don't you notice the sudden WTF animation bump? And this is all from the same episode, so it's obviously not just an issue of budget.

Actually, if I'm remembering right, the scene from 6:48 on was done by "Naotoshi Shida" ….who, considering some other examples of his work in One Piece…..

Is one of the best animators that Toei has….

I think that's mostly a comment on the amount of shallow, silly stuff, like moeshit. Miyazaki makes films that are artistic without sacrificing a compelling story. Obviously seeing all the stupid otaku nonsense shows that have taken over the industry leads him to think a certain way. I probably agree with him.

…..holy hell, that does look a hell of a lot like her….

I wonder what fanart will come out when the movie premieres.

Are you watching Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun? No? THEN YOU SHOULD! You should also check out Terror in Resonance too, because that's also awesome. And hell, while you're at it, watch Tokyo ESP too, because that cool too.

On a separate note, I also checked out Love Stage earlier, and it's actually good! And it's BL! It's like a miracle. A BL show with good characters, a nice story, and actual funny comedy, that never happens. I mean, I can't in good faith recommend it, because it's still yaoi at it's core, and I know that makes many of you feel uncomfortable, but if that doesn't bother you, you should totally check it out.

Now I was going to check out Bakumatsu Rock and Sabagebu as per recommendations, as well as continue watching Haikyuu, but I'm currently following 16 shows, and I don't think I could handle any more.
