I don't watch a lot of anime (not since like 2002-ish anyway)
How's InuYasha, still a good anime, despite it cancelled?
I used to like that

InuYasha does have another season called The Final Act. I can't really speak volumes for how good/bad it is, but it's nice to have a real ending to the show.

Yeah. Also, I used to watch Azumanga Daioh.
As a frequent user of Crunchyroll, does anyone know about websites similar with a larger library?

Funimation's website has a decently sized library, and you can watch most of their stuff for free, sometimes even the dubbed versions if you're looking for that. The only problem I have is that the website sometimes refuses to work for me, specifically the video player. I haven't been having that problem lately, though. They also get a lot of the currently airing shows that Crunchyroll doesn't get. This season, for example, they have Tokyo Ghoul and Zankyou no Terror.
Watching Sword art online chapter of today made me forget for few minutes that Kirito is a Marty stu, it was an enjoyable chapter BTW
and the new chapter of jojo, 24 seconds of pure ORAORAORAORAORA, Amazing
I've been reading Akame ga Kill 2 chapters per day in avarage and i must say: it's amazing. And: IGNORE IF YOU'LL BE MAD AT MINOR OPINION:
It can go darker. Believe it, it definitely can. Gotta love the characters development.

ah, sorry though they were mixed. A shame it's not really active. Oh well, moving on:
Any news on when the Haruhi Suzumiya spin-off with Yuki-chan will start? I know it was announced last year but i haven't saw any news on it even though i search a while for it. Some say it was supposed to be aired in april but was apparently postponed. I honestly can't wait, i mean, things related to haruhi are kind weird but that's the best part.
I'm looking forward to seeing an official english version of Chi's Sweet Home by Discotek Media that will be on DVD in the future.
TOMODAAAAAAA!!
Yo folks, with the new boards and all, please remember that this means you can now freely create seperate threads for specific popular animes or topics discussed here. Having such a broad topic like anime, centered in a single thread in a board about anime and other shows, is not using the new board to its full potentional.
Just saying. I'm trying to promote the new boards here a bit. Don't cluster, but spread out.

ok, apart from kyoto's struggles with male, non-moe anatomy, just how deep is that bathtub?
and who's the redhead haru look-alike?
akame ga kill is, eh, 3edgy5me, but i started watching gekkan shoujo nozaki-kun and like it so far,
everything else will have to wait, no time for that until after gamescom/examination period…
Yeah, Akame ga Kill really doesn't live up to the hype, sorry to say. It's good, but it screams generic shounen 90% of the time. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun however still holds the title as best show of the season, rivalled only by Terror in Resonance and Tokyo ESP (Tokyo Ghoul ain't half bad either though).

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks that. I find in anime, people either love or hate it too much. It's in no way bad, but it's not outstanding.
I still love Barakamon, my favorite so far. I don't care how slow Glasslip is moving, the aesthetics are amazing.
If you've still not watched Barakamon, this sums it up.

My 3 favorites this season are Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Jinsei, and Akame ga Kill. I'd say that Tokyo Ghoul, Ryokujoma no Shinryakusha, Barakamon, and Zankyou no Terror are very good. I'm still watching Bakumatsu Rock, Glasslip, Serei Tsukai no Bladedance, Rail Wars, SAO II, and Sailor Moon Crystal because they entertain me for one reason or another. I'm obviously keeping up with JoJo and Hunter x Hunter as well. I've dropped everything else because I just don't have time. And some of them were beyond awful, especially one in particular.
Has anyone here read "Akira"?
Because quite honestly, I didn't much care for the movie…..however after reading the source material, I realized just how inferior it was to the original.
(If I remember correctly, they made the movie when the series wasn't even finished yet. Which makes sense.)
But yeah, it truly is awesome and amazing. I'd suggest it to anybody.
But yeah "Anime" thread. So what are your opinions on the movie?

Oh that's nice. Commenting here after 5 days of no posts just for an irrelevant post. Don't like anime? No need to tell the world. Of course, you can always be a troll account.

Not that the thread was very active lately but yeah; let's keep the alts game in riff raff.
EDIT: oops wrong account
Sorry, got carried away. But this thread needs to be more active, Loli, post more. And go get Dac from wherever he went off to.
From now on, since Halloween is coming up in two months. Since I don't celebrate Halloween anymore, I can still celebrate the month and day of Halloween by watching an anime series from 2011 called "Nyanpire The Animation". Based on the ongoing manga series "The Gothic World of Nyanpire". I will be watching this anime a lot during the month of Halloween since the main protagonist "Nyanpire". Is both a vampire and a black cat, and black cats and vampires are a popular symbol for Halloween. Also Japan there is tons of Halloween merchandise featuring Nyanpire and friends and the series is popular with people who are into goth. There are English subs of the anime that can be found on the Internet, and the ending credits music is insanely catchy!

What about lil' Ol me here?
But anyways, has anyone here seen "Highschool of the Dead"?
It's one of the only shows that has kept me interested and invested in the characters and story despite having an outrageous amount of fanservice; I mean softcore porn and beyond level. (though it makes sense considering the mangaka is also a hentai artist).
So, opinions on "HOTD"? Or perhaps a show that wasn't as lucky as it and was consumed by it's own fanservice.

Arin and Ross thought the anime was stupid, but only watched it for the boobs.
Espurr wrote:

Took me a minute to process who "Arin" and "Ross" were….and then it hit me.
But yeah, not saying it was 10/10 material or anything, more like a "B-" in my opinion, but I was genuinely surprised and thankful that despite the sheer volume of fanservice it was still able to hold a sense of characters, atmosphere, and story.
Maybe i've just grown too accustomed to the bottomless pit of harem/ecchi anime that flounder in their pool of blandness, cardboard cutout characters, zero plot, bouncing boobs and panty shots, shower "walk in's" and a billion other things. Now this may sound paranoid….but I honestly think that those kinds of shows infect others. Like somewhere along development some higher up makes a change (because "it sells") that corrupts it's way through the rest of the show like a virus.
So whenever a show comes about that is able to avoid that, and yet still have ecchi galore, I feel like a tip of the hat is in order.

My reaction to AgK episode 6 can be summed up in two images:
This…
And later on…
Interpret that however you will, but I must say this show is getting a lot more enjoyable.

Classes, work, and gym is taking up too much time, sorry I haven't been posting much.

Holy shit, I wish I could manage to watch all those. I mean, not those in particular, but the number. I struggle to watch three at a time along with the other ones I need to catch up on.
@The greato
Amazingly, considering all the shows I watch, I cant stand the fan service in HOTD. I just don't like gore and tits, especially since it gets so violent just to have this shit.
Its fucking stupid and a contendor for one the worst shows ive ever seen. Its not even enjoyable ironically (My sister is unsual and Qwazar of Stigmata). Fuck that Manga, fuck that show. Its not even sexy….
4/10 just because the animation is OK and the purple haired girl is kinda cool.
Pfffft poor Rabac. I'm quite anxious for the next chapter.
Anyway, I haven't seen much anime this days. Right now I am trying to watch Magi, I already caught up with the manga and I want to see the anime. Although there are some things that disappointed me and I am lazy to watch it.
Loli, post more.
Nah thanks, I'll pass. I might bump the manga thread, IDK.
Akame ga Kill really doesn’t live up to the hype
Eh, maybe. Not that I actually listen to your opinions but hey, you may be right.
@Dac
Can you believe ^this shit?
YAY Dac's back. I was scared you'd left. Although on the topic of watching so many shows, it's still kinda hard even if you have the time. You end up having to cut everything you aren't super invested in (Like Glasslip and Haikyuu for me, but I still want to finish those shows). The upside though is I adore every show I'm watching at the moment (outside of Rail Wars and Dramatical Murder, naturally).

Still watching rail wars huh. Kinda funny considering you hate it. I might have to start watching that again.
@loli
Sadly, yes I can believe it. But if I am honest, I prefer the manga, but that is usually the case. Its not a fair comparison as many of the best characters aren't even in the anime yet.
Dac wrote:

Yeah, and Aladdin sounds like a little girl.
I think that, in most cases, the manga is always better than the anime. It happened with Tokyo Ghoul (IMO), it happened with Tokyo ESP and it happened with Magi.
I also think this happens more with shonen mangas/animes, for example: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun is hilarious, just like the manga. Same with Kawai Complex.
I don't know, maybe shonen is a difficult genre to adapt.
Well, +1 for the anime version.
@Dac
I'm always up for a good hatewatch, and Rail Wars is so stupidly bad it's entertaining. Same goes for Dramatical Murder, which I'd probably say is even worse

Who the fuck is Alladin? I don't think we are talking about the same thing. Also, I realize my last comment made it seem as if I was saying that "sadly, I can see why he thinks that" I meant that, sadly I expect that from Random 69 non manga reading casualfag. I still love akame, don't you worry. But I like the manga more at the moment.
@Loli
Well I'm enjoying both Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo ESP at the moment (the latter is one of my favorite things on at the moment). Akame is just too shounen for it's own good. I read a few chapters of the manga just in case that's way way better, and I felt the same. My gripes still stand, the comedy and the character archetypes are too generic. And I stand by that Tatsumi is on another level of dumb and annoying and he kinda pisses me off whenever he speaks.
Also noteworthy is that Nozaki-Kun and Kawai Complex are both shounen as well.
Dac

@random
I won't dwell on it, but I really don't get how he is particularly dumb. He hasn't messed up anything and is just naive. Though, maybe I can identify with that because I was a dumb teen at one point and am old enough to see that I would be just like him probably. I think jessuotaku made a good point with how people hate on Eren for his naivete simply because they are too young to realise all teens are idiots really and I feel the same could be said for Tatsumi. I hate Eren more for the story's problems, but I digress. anyways , opinions are like elbows, everyone's got them… But you have casualfag elbows, huehuehue
