About

PDF to Brainrot AI refers to various online AI video generators like pdftobrainrot.com, Coconote AI, Memenome AI and shortspilot.ai that combine an AI voiceover of a user-submitted PDF, of something like a viral Reddit story, with a background visual, like Subway Surfers gameplay or a Minecraft parkour video, to create a so-called Brainrot video, also known as Sludge Content, to post on TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. Some of the applications also do "Brainrot Translations" which replace words in the PDF to Brainrot slang like Skibidi, Rizz or Gyatt, among others. The PDF to Brainrot AI-generated videos were used to farm engagement with little to no creative effort or editing output. Discourse about PDF to Brainrot services surfaced en masse on TikTok and Twitter / X in 2024 and mainly centered on: how the AI service made the already notoriously lazy video style even lazier; the Dead Internet Theory; and reactions to claims that using the service could yield significant revenue after posting the PDF to Brainrot AI videos to social media. For instance, many people likened the service to a "method" or "hack" to earn quick cash. Many of these claims came from young Gen Z and Gen Alpha which added to the shock and disassociation experienced by older internet users upon learning about the services.

The whole article made me think of the following song lyrics:

"Come on Armageddon, I'm getting impatient; I got a lot of feelings and I hope you'll erase them. Just waiting on that giant meteor to land, if I can't rise above it I'd rather just be flattened where I stand."
