Cutting Food with a Sword refers to a photograph of French rapper Kaaris pretending to cut food with a replica of the Frostmourne runeblade from Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft video game franchise. In 2019, the image gained popularity as an object-labeling meme, depicting various situations in which sword represents abudance or excess.
Origin
On June 20th, 2015, French rapper Kaaris posted an image of himself pretending to cut a slice of lasagna with a replica of Frostmourne runeblade from Warcraft universe to his Twitter account[13]. The post gained more than 3,900 retweets and 1,200 likes in three years (shown below).

Spread
On the same day, Tumblr[1] user ruleofthirds made a now-unavailable post containing the image. The post gained over 95,000 likes and reblogs in three years.
Between 2015 and 2018, the image saw limited use as a meme template, with several notable examples appearing on Twitter[2], Instagram[3] and Imgur[4]. In some examples, popular World of Warcraft quote "Frostmourne hungers" was used as a punchline.[5]
On December 22nd, 2018, Twitter[6] user @srs_god used the image in a joke about binge-watching Game of Thrones TV series. The post received over 16,400 retweets in three weeks.
On January 2nd, 2019, Redditor[7] ThatsAnoofFomMe posted an object-labeling meme using the image to /r/dankmemes subreddit. The post gained over 7,500 upvotes in 12 days. On the same day, ThatsAnoofFomMe[8] posted the template to /r/MemeEconomy subreddit, where it gained over 1,200 upvotes in the same period.
Following the initial posts, in early January 2019 more versions of the meme were posted to /r/dankmemes[9], /r/2007scape[10], /r/memes[11] and other subreddits and on Instagram[12].
