About
Taylor Swift's Eggs refers to far-right conspiracy theorist Stefan Molyneux's tweet regarding Taylor Swift's age and her dwindling number of eggs posted in December 2019.
Origin
On December 9th, 2019, Twitter user @StefanMolyneux[1] tweeted, "I can’t believe Taylor Swift is about to turn 30 – she still looks so young! It’s strange to think that 90% of her eggs are already gone – 97% by the time she turns 40 – so I hope she thinks about having kids before it’s too late! She’d be a fun mom. :)" (shown below). The tweet gained over 9,800 likes and 1,600 retweets in a day.
Spread
On December 9th, 2019, Chrissy Teigen retweeted[2] Molyneux's tweet with the caption "uhhhh you’re a fuckin weird ass" (shown below, left). The tweet accumulated over 317,100 likes and 22,400 retweets in a day. That same day, Twitter user @leahtriss[3] mocked Molyneux's by tweeting, "The top 1% of Taylor Swift’s eggs own more wealth than the bottom 99%" (shown below, right).
The next day, @StefanMolyneux[4] tweeted, "Ohhh, I see.Taylor Swift said this: “Hey, just so you know, we’re more than incubators.” So she’s helping to program young women – who mostly lack her talents, wealth and fame – to reject motherhood. Very nasty" (shown below). The tweet which refers to a statement made by Swift early that week received 3,900 likes and 500 retweets that day.[5]
