Furry Scaring Dog refers to an object labeling exploitable using an image of a dog showing concern to a person wearing a fursuit. The meme is used to express feelings of concern or alarm between a person and a concept.
Origin
On January 23rd, 2019, Redditor Kelaita[1] uploaded a picture of the Fursuiter rocketwolfski[2] alongisde a dog who shows apprehension to the costume to /r/hmmm (shown below), gaining over 54,800 upvotes in the coming hours.
Spread
Hours later, user LarsSnareMaster3000[3] uploaded a labeled image to /r/dankmemes making a joke on the possible interaction between weebs and Japanese people, managing to get 16,900 upvotes on the coming days (shown below).
Later that day the same images was reposted to /r/MemeEconomy by the user RetroReboot54[4] expressing the potential of the image becoming a meme, gaining 28,800 upvotes in the process. After that the image spread to other subresdits like /r/furry_irl, /r/Animemes and /r/2007scape. /r/furry_irl poster SammytheTanuki gained over 2,700 points illustrating the image (shown below, top). /r/Animemes user TraumaticSpeedometer gained over 5,100 points for their post (shown below, bottom left), and user CakConstable gained over 6,800 points for their post on /r/2007scape (shown below, bottom right).
