"Get the fries. You'll need the energy in the coming days." refers to a viral Tumblr "snowclone" originally posted by user grimeclown. In the joke, person goes to McDonald's and asks a picture of a fictional character what they should order, who tells them to "get fries." The post would go on to inspire multiple variations featuring different characters, as well as fan art depicting the various scenes.

Origin

On February 4th, 2017, Tumblr user grimeclown^[1] made the original post, which featured a piece of Michael Jackson fan art titled "Man in the Mirror"^[2] which was made by Tumblr and DeviantArt user Atarial.

Spread

Over the following years, the post was parodied on Tumblr by replacing the Michael Jackson fan art with various anime and video game characters. For example, Tumblr user sylferino^[3] posted a parody with Diavolo from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, gaining over 4,700 notes (shown below, left). User waddle-lee also posted a Jojo parody, though the post was deleted (shown below, center). User gogopri^[4] posted an example featuring Raiden and Snake from Metal Gear Solid 2, gaining over 2,300 notes (shown below, right).

Jackson Family Estate v. Tumblr Hoax

Sometimes users may see a Tumblr content removal image instead of the Michael Jackson fan art (shown below).

This led to a hoax that the Jackson Family Estate had sued Tumblr. User thebiologyofpurpose^[5] created a fake Wikipedia screenshot to add legitimacy to the hoax (shown below).
