The video was originally posted sometime around October 2021 and went viral through reposts, inspiring memes in which the phrase is pasted above similar drawings of Bart Simpson and other characters.

Origin

On October 30th, 2021, TikToker^[1] @rileyraines611 reuploaded a video that was posted and deleted by TikToker @rileyraines610 on an unknown date in which a child showcases a drawing of Bart Simpson and says, "I spent two hours on this Bart Simpson for nothing. No views, I bet," garnering over 10,000 views in three years (shown below). This is the earliest known reupload of the video.

Spread

The video gained viral spread over the following years, inspiring memes using the dialogue from the video as a copypasta and becoming a popular original sound on TikTok. On November 3rd, 2021, X^[2] user @ohnoitmatt reposted the video, garnering over 6,700 likes in three years. On August 31st, 2022, TikToker^[3] @harambesnose posted a video using the audio, garnering over 2.7 million views in two years (shown below).

On May 10th and June 29th, 2024, TikTokers^[4][5] @ermwhattheskibidisigmaaa and @sneezeing posted videos using the same sound that garnered over 600,000 and 350,000 views respectively in two months (shown below, left and right).

On August 1st, X^[6] user @gleebled posted several drawings of Bart Simpson wearing various cosplay outfits, writing the phrase above the drawings, garnering over 12,000 likes in a week (shown below, left). On August 7th, X^[7] user @NotStephenStran posted a similar meme, garnering over 52,000 likes in a day (shown below, right).
