It's Called Aura Bruh or You Smell Like Pure Unfettered Ass is an exploitable meme format based on a FallenChungus webcomic in which one character with stink-lines coming off him says, "It's called aura, bruh," followed by a second, angry character saying, "Dude you need to get the fuck out of my house you smell like pure unfettered ass." The comic was posted to X / Twitter in late August 2024 and became the subject of redraws and photoshops over the following weeks, becoming notably popularized on X and Reddit.
Origin
On August 20th, 2024, X[1] artist @FallenChungus posted a comic depicting two characters talking. The character on the left, who has stink lines coming off his body, says, "It's called aura, bruh," referring to his stench. The angry character on the right responds, "Dude you need to get the fuck out of my house you smell like pure unfettered ass." The post gained over 104,000 likes and 6,500 reposts in two weeks.

The comic became the subject of redraws and photoshops over the following weeks, in which the characters and captions were drawn over or replaced.
On August 20th, 2024, a redraw of the meme was posted to the subreddit /r/IdentityV,[2] garnering over 400 upvotes in two weeks. On August 21st, X[3] user @thinewrathBdone posted a version replacing the character on the left with a representation of an Indian person, garnering over 10,000 likes in two weeks.
On August 22nd, X[4] user @Scotia834 posted a redraw of the comic replacing the left character with Oro and the right with Alex from Street Fighter 3, garnering over 5,400 likes in two weeks.
On August 24th, Redditor u/joooompv4 posted a version of the meme referencing Overwatch to /r/Overwatch_Memes[5] that garnered over 5,400 upvotes in two weeks. On August 25th, a version referencing the primarchs Roboute Guilliman and Mortarion (a Daemon Prince of Nurgle) from Warhammer 40,000 was posted to /r/Grimdank,[6] garnering over 5,600 upvotes in the same span of time.
On August 29th, 2024, X[7] user @reoinjail posted a version of the meme referencing the anime and manga series Blue Lock, garnering over 1,800 likes in a week.
