Level 9 CPU Kazuya refers to an AI controlled Kazuya Mishina in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. When the computer-controlled Kazuya is set to level 9, the highest difficulty setting for CPUs in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, he is shown to be a dangerous opponent to face which has surprised many Smash players.

Origin

Kazuya Mishina from the fighting game series Tekken was announced as a playable DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on June 15th, 2021.[1] He was released on June 29th, 2021.[2] Shortly after, tarikwastaken[3] was among the many users on Twitter who uploaded a video of themselves being easily defeated by a level 9 CPU Kazuya. tarikwastaken's tweet received over 10.7k likes and 1,880 retweets (shown below).

Since his release, other Smash players have shared videos of themselves on Twitter battling a level 9 CPU-controlled Kazuya. On June 29th, SmugLore_yt[4] posted on Twitter a compilation of Smash players fighting and losing to the level 9 CPU Kazuya. The tweet received 7,168 likes and 1,636 retweets (shown below, top).
On June 30th, darknakat[5] posted a video on Twitter of himself shocked by how strong the computer-controlled Kazuya was against his Marth. The tweet received over 15.5k likes and 2,407 retweets (shown below, bottom).



Later that day, Dr Alan[6] on Twitter posted a tweet asking whether it was possible for him to sign the level 9 CPU Kazuya to his esports team. The tweet received 5,353 likes and 267 retweets (shown below, left). The notoriety of the CPU led to the creation of a Twitter parody account @Level9CPUKazuya[7] (shown below, right).
