The New Nails TikTok Trend is a trend on TikTok in which women post videos showing off their nails while their hands hover over or touch their boyfriends' crotch region in order to show the outline of their penis, the boyfriends often wearing sweatpants or other loose clothing. The trend, often set to the song "White Tee" by Summer Walker, was first posted to TikTok as early as April 2021, becoming further popularized over the following years.

Origin

On April 9th, 2021, TikToker^[1] @user8322136933798 posted a video set to Summer Walker's song "White Tee" where she shows off her nails to the camera while hovering her hand over the crotch region of a man's pants, touching his penis over the pants in between showing the nails, captioned, "do u guys like my new nails," garnering over 2.3 million views in three years (shown below). This is the earliest known example of the trend.

Spread

The trend continued to spread across TikTok over the following years, inspiring numerous viral videos. For example, on June 10th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @lundin.anna posted a version of the trend that gained over 29 million views in 10 months (shown below, left).

On February 13th, 2024, TikToker^[3] @xrylee.m posted a version of the trend that gained over 2.1 million views in a month (shown below, right).

On April 11th, 2024, TikToker^[4] @NoahGlennCarter posted a video about the trend, explaining it and wondering why TikTok has done absolutely nothing about it, suggesting it shouldn't be allowed on the platform, garnering over 4 million views in a day (shown below).
