Oh My God It's Albert Einstein is a quote from a viral video in which a man jokes that another gentleman resembles famed scientist Albert Einstein, then follows him around yelling "Einstein." The video has been repurposed in reaction to science and math-related memes.

Origin

Prior to December 2020, American comedian Gerald Huston uploaded a video of himself meeting a man that looks like Albert Einstein, then yelling the name at him while the gentleman attempts to ignore Huston. The video was deleted, and on December 12th, 2020, YouTube[1] user TrippieDaFatMF reposted the video, which received more than 525,000 views in two years (shown below). Additionally, the video was reuploaded to Huston's TikTok,[2] @iamgeraldhuston, on April 19th, 2022.



Spread

Starting in 2022, the video grew popular as a reaction to science and math-related memes. For example, on June 24th, 2022, YouTube[3] user Ytsalah server uploaded an edit of the video with various math problems. It received more than 142,000 views in one year (shown below, left). On July 5th, 2022, YouTube[4] user Lollix YT uploaded a similar video and received more than 250,000 views in one year (shown below, right).



On May 28th, 2022, YouTube[5] user KrizzGuy 2.0 uploaded a remix of the video showing an image of a magnetic vehicle. The video received more than 1.2 million views in one year (shown below, left). On June 28th, 2022, YouTube[6] user ChromaXLVII uploaded a parody that received more than 546,000 views in one year (shown below, right).
