Henry Cavill is an English actor best known for playing "Superman" in DC Universe films and Geralt in the Netflix series The Witcher. Online, he has been the subject of several meme templates and memes based on moments from his films.

History

Henry Cavill was born May 5th, 1983[1] in the Jersey Islands, a British Crown dependency. He debuted in the 2001 film Laguna and appeared in various films until he broke through as Charles Brandon in The Tudors (shown below, left). In 2013, he starred as :Superman:/memes/subcultures/superman in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, and continued to star as Superman in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.



In 2018, Cavill starred as August Walker in Mission: Impossible--Fallout, and in 2019, he began his role as Geralt in Netflix's The Witcher.



Online Presence

Cavill has developed a devoted fandom online. His Facebook [2] page has gained over 1.3 million likes since its creation in October of 2015. His subreddit[3] has gained over 1,700 subscribers since its creation in April of 2013.

On December 18th, 2019, NME YouTube channel posted an interview with actor Henry Cavill about the upcoming The Witcher Netflix series. Geralt's Fuck and Geralt's Hmm refers to two interjections often repeated by character Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Netflix TV series. Following the release of the series, the catchphrases became popular subjects of memes online, with a still image of Geralt captioned "Fuck" also gaining popularity as an image macro.

On December 20th, 2019, The Witcher series premiered on Netflix. In a number of scenes in the series, the main protagonist Geralt of Rivia, portrayed by Henry Cavill, interjects "Fuck" when he finds himself in unfavorable situations. Additionally, on many occasions, Geralt grunts "hmm" when thinking or responding to others (compilations shown below).
