Leeyanncn, also known as Swaying Food Man, is the name of a dancing influencer and content creator in Vietnam. Best known for his unique style of dancing in which he sways or swings from side to side with his legs in a wide stance, Leeyanncn became a meme success after many of his videos began to spread with captions placed on top of them in 2023. In late 2023, reactions to his dancing and how he took over multiple FYPs started to be made, causing more people to become aware of him.

Online History

Leeyanncn uploaded his first TikTok^[1] to the platform on August 24th, 2023, in which he could be seen holding a flower and a meal from a restaurant behind him. After showing the flower to the camera, he starts to do his back-and-forth swaying, while also showing the food in his other hand as a worker behind him attempts to emulate the dance moves, gaining over 45,000 likes in six months (shown below).

After starting to get attention online for his dancing, Leeyann's most viral TikTok^[2] was uploaded on September 22nd, 2023. In the TikTok, Leeyann is seen holding a bowl of food before starting his dance routine in front of a restaurant. During his dance, however, he bumps a woman into a tree while another one is miming his routine and workers can be seen in the background watching his dancing. This TikTok would become his most popular, earning over 4 million views and 335,000 likes in four months (shown below).

Presence in Memes

Leeyann's dancing started to be used in meme compilations and posted on TikTok with different audio with the intent to be a silly meme instead of a paid dancing advertisement. On September 28th, 2023, the TikToker kash.runs.you^[3] uploaded an earlier clip of Leeyann dancing, with the caption reading, "Who is bro shaking for" and using the Good Kush And Alcohol edited audio, earning over 2 million likes in four months (shown below).

Other TikTokers began to notice Leeyann appearing frequently in their FYP, with many deciding to create TikToks about his dancing instead of memes using it. On October 10th, 2023, TikToker just_a_khaled^[4] uploaded a TikTok in which he shows how normal people eat before transitioning the video to be him talking about Leeyann. This was followed up by another TikTok uploaded on October 14th by user canobueno0^[5] in which he imitates one of Leeyann's earlier videos and includes the caption that he sees him on his FYP all day (shown below, left and right).
