Raini Rodriguez is an actress who is best known for her recurring role in the Paul Blart: Mall Cop series and the Disney series Austin and Ally. Online, she developed an ironic fandom after a clip of her singing in Spanish spread online. Her fans also have a running joke that Rodriguez is in a rivalry with Beyoncé.
History
Rodriguez was born July 1st, 1993 in Bryan, Texas.[1] Her first major role came in 2009's Paul Blart: Mall Cop, where she played Maya Blart. She reprised the role in 2015's Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. In 2011, she began a recurring role as Trish on Disney's Austin and Ally, which she played until the show went off the air in 2016.
In 2012, she recorded the single both English and Spanish versions of a song called "Living Your Dreams" for the Beverly Hills Chihuaha 3: Viva La Fiesta! soundtrack.

On August 30th, 2013, ClevverTV uploaded a clip of Rodriguez singing a snippet of the Spanish language version of the song during an interview at the 2013 D23 Expo (shown below).
Four years later, YouTube and Instagram remixers took the clip and edited it in various ways, turning it into a meme. On August 26th, 2017, YouTuber Lowis uploaded a distorted edit of the clip that gained over 28,000 views on YouTube (shown below, left).On October 23rd, YouTuber Lona Delery uploaded a video which spliced the clip into the song "Last Dance" by Dua Lipa, gaining over 50,000 views (shown below, right).
The meme continued into 2018. One of the most popular videos posted by YouTuber "exposed" on March 26th, 2018, is a compilation of prior remixes of the track (shown below).
Beyoncé Rivalry
Online, fans of Rodriguez have perpetuated a joke that Rodriguez is in a rivalry with pop star Beyoncé. These jokes typically involve making hyperbolic comparisons between the two, as well as insinuating that Rodriguez was the Becky Beyoncé sang about in "Sorry," a song which many speculated was about her husband Jay-Z's infidelity. The joke is spread primarily through Instagram and Twitter. The joke intensified during the #WhoBitBeyonce controversy, as some Rodriguez fans insisted it was her.
