Red Michael, also known as Overcooked Overlord, refers to an image edit of EDM music producer Michaël "Eptic" Bella with red skin. The image inspired a series of image edits that feature the photo in different situations, settings and colors.

Origin

On April 4th, 2019, Bella tweeted ^[1] a selfie of himself with sunburn and the caption, "Ma i did it again 🦞." The post received more than 450 likes in less than two years (shown below). Fellow musician MUST DIE! re-uploaded the photo of Eptic several times, each with a filter that made Eptic redder with each upload.

On April 5th, 2019, EDM producer MUST DIE! uploaded the same image of Eptic on Twitter but with a slightly redder skin tone (shown below, left). They later deleted the tweet. MUST DIE! stated in the post that he only worshipped "Red Michael." He continued to post more renditions of Eptic's original photo, each time giving the photo a redder skin tone.

On April 9th, 2019, the dubstep record label Never Say Die Records posted an edited photo of Eptic on Twitter.^[2] They included of an image edit of Eptic combined with a cake (shown below, center).

That day, others shared various memes featuring Red Michael (example below, right).
