The image also uses the Broken Heart or Heartbreak Emoji (💔), building on its use in JuggTok meme circles, alongside the Dead Rose Emoji (🥀). The meme was a common reaction in TikTok comment sections in mid-2025, also spreading across social media platforms like Twitter / X and Instagram. Soon after, redraws of the image surfaced online.

Origin

On March 28th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @awoppoepaeol.2 posted a meme, showing rapper Lazer Dim 700 and the caption, "SYBAU 💔." The photo gained over 113,900 likes in two months (shown below).

Spread

In the following months, the image was reposted across social media as the meme spread online in the spring of 2025.

For instance, on May 13th, 2025, Instagram^[2] user @dropaxaninmyyfaygo reposted the meme, gaining over 3,900 likes in 15 days.

On TikTok, the image became well-known, largely due to its use in comment sections after the ability to comment with pictures was added to the platform, similar to the rise of the Guy Ponting at Himself meme.

For example, on May 15th, TikToker^[3] @wanderfrancoslawyer posted a video that joked about people who like the meme being unintelligent, gaining over 179,400 likes in 13 days (shown below).

Similarly, on May 15th, 2025, TikToker^[4] @nbayoungboys_nutsack posted the image and added text asking, "How do people genuinely find this funny?" receiving over 6,400 likes in 13 days (shown below).

Heading into late May 2025, redraws of the meme, in which artists replaced Lazer Dim 700 with characters from TV, anime and video games, surfaced online.

For instance, on May 22nd, TikToker^[5] @bijynutt posted two redraws in a slideshow, showing characters from the game Cookie Run: Kingdom. Over six days, the photos received roughly 30,900 likes (shown below).
