What Is The 'SYBAU' Meme? The 'SYBAU Picture' Or 'SYBAU Guy' Showing Rapper Lazer Dim 700 Explained

There's a photo of a guy with the slang term "SYBAU" next to him that's gone viral on TikTok, mostly because of its use in comment sections. The meme's being called the "SYBAU Guy," or "SYBAU Picture."
The guy has a name, though. He's a rapper named Lazer Dim 700, and the photo of him holding his hands up didn't originally have the slang abbreviation and the Heartbreak or Broken Heart Emoji (💔) next to it.
The meme comes from TikTok, but who made it? Where did the "SYBAU Guy" meme come from, and how has it spread? Let's explain.

Where Did The 'SYBAU Picture' Or 'SYBAU Guy' Meme Come From?
A TikToker named @awoppoepaeol.2 is the original creator of the meme. He shared the photo back in March 2025, using an underground rap song as the sound.
It showed the rapper Lazer Dim 700 throwing up some signs with his hands. Next to him it read, "SYBAU," paired with a heartbreak emoji, akin to the emoji's use in "JuggTok" posts.

In a later post, the TikToker said, "I apologize for making SYBAU." The photo's description read, "I'm sorry everyone for the madness and the people spamming in the comment sections 💔."

What Does 'SYBAU' Mean?
"SYBAU" is a slang acronym for "shut your bitch ass up." It's a form of Algospeak, as it removes all the bad words that might get a strike on social media sites like TikTok.
Use of SYBAU skyrocketed earlier this year, following the popularity of other slang acronyms like "TS," "PMO" and "ICL." SYBAU was added to the mix when the "Yogurt / Gurt: Yo" memes started popping off.
All of the words were combined into so-called "slang overload" posts, best represented by the "ICL TS PMO copypasta."

Who Is Rapper Lazer Dim 700?
Lazer Dim 700 is a rapper from the Atlanta, Georgia area, who rose to prominence in the underground scene last year. He's spawned several viral TikTok sounds since then, used for memes like the "Henry Danger Side Eye" and "Coraline Choking Herself," among other "GIFTok" trends.
His lyrics have also become the subject of memes, most notably his bar, "Trap so old, gotta run out the house when I play my music so the roof don't fall on me." Lazer Dim's also the guy in the "Snowbunny Mind Control" thumbnail.

What Are Some More 'SYBAU' Memes?
The trend took off in TikTok comment sections this year. People use it to let the video's uploader know that they should SYBAU, but the Lazer Dim image is a funny way to tell them off.
The image has sparked several redraws too. Examples include Gumball, the Roblox guy and MePhone4 from Object Show.

Like the redraws, the slang term SYBAU has gotten its fair share of variants too, like "SYFM" and "SMYW." Both terms have earned their own parody Lazer Dim 700 photos, paying homage to the original meme.
