Techno Pharmacy Signs refers to a series of viral videos of rapidly flashing pharmacy signs, depicted as a green cross symbol, mostly filmed in France, Italy or other European countries. Often paired with techno and other rave music, various clips of the signs went viral on TikTok in July and August 2022.
Origin
On July 21st, 2021, TikToker[1] @thewollium posted a clip of a rapidly flashing pharmacy sign in France set to the techno track "Stay With Me" by Belgian DJ Amelie Lens. The clip gained over 1.1 million views and 233,000 likes in one month (shown below).

Spread
The video inspired more similar TikToks pairing clips of flashing pharmacy signs, which are often found in France and some other European countries,[2] with techno and other electronic dance music. For example, on July 23rd, 2022, TikToker[3] baboumsx posted a clip of a flashing pharmacy sign set to "Techno Music" by Fraw that gained over 72,300 views and 14,300 likes in one month (shown below, left). On August 13th, 2022, TikToker[4] slaylantica posted a clip set to "Sanguine Fountain" by Vendex that received over 1.2 million views and 249,000 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).

On August 14th, 2022, Twitter[5] user @jbru__ reuploaded the video to the website, where it gained over 190,000 views, 1,500 retweets and 7,500 likes in two weeks.
On August 16th, TikToker[6] tinecka posted another clip set to the composition. The upload (shown below) accumulated over 5.6 million views and 1.3 million likes in two weeks.

On August 19th, Twitter[7] user @yourolly reuploaded the video to Twitter, commenting, "Obsessed with tiktok discovering Europe’s OTT rave pharmacy signs." The tweet received over 1.4 million views, 5,300 retweets, and 37,000 likes in two weeks. In the following days, multiple Techno Pharmacy Signs videos were posted by users on TikTok.
On August 17th, 2022, Twitter gimmick account Pharmacy Signs with Techno Music (@Signs_w_Techno) was launched,[8] accumulating over 3,000 followers in two weeks.

Oh god i remember these back around a decade ago when I went to France with my parents for a week
pharmacies have always been super-obvious and flashy in touristy areas.
a bunch of people from colder countries overexerting themselves in the sweltering heat, probably eating food they aren't used to… I don't think I've been on a single family vacation where we didn't have to rush out one night to get some stomach medicine or paracetamol.
