About
White Powdered Oranges refers to multiple food porn videos of extraordinarily juicy oranges that are covered in white powder being cut in half and squeezed by Chinese farmers on TikTok. In mid-2022, the videos frequently appeared on people's "For You" pages and American creators started parodying the videos by trying (and failing) to recreate the juiciness with their own fruit at home. The videos originally came from China's Douyin app and the oranges are actually called "ehime jelly oranges" (爱媛果冻橙), being a cross-breed of oranges and tangerines native to Japan. The white powder is a clay used to protect the fruit from pests.
