I don't see how this one is a contradiction. Whether someone is popular, for example, is strictly a social effect. Yet popular people enjoy advantages over unpopular people simply because they're popular.

The premise of the cartoon is that people cannot gain privilege from social factors. If you have a different interpretation, I'm all ears.
