Aren't you guys lucky that I'm willing to dive head first into the s--- for you.....urgh.

So, the main debunk at the moment was that it was two tonnes of dog food meant for a nearby veterinary clinic that had gone off.

Trouble with this is that there are no kennels, veterinary clinics or dog shelters within 20km of where the packages were dumped. Also given that it's two tonnes of meat (2000lbs), I doubt some rural kennel in the Russian borderland is going to have the facilities to store that much meat, so it'll have to be given to the dogs and other animals ASAP.

Two tonnes is enough to feed hundreds of dogs in the week before it goes off in the summer heat, but where are these hundreds of dogs?

Another interesting thing to note is that it would be extremely strange that a rural veterinary clinic in the Russian borderlands were able to personally disinfect an entire road and dispose of the crates. You would think that would fall to down to a more specialist agency, but who knows who things work over there.

Personally, I think these were the bits of mobiks they'd collected from the rear areas that they were transporting to the chicken farm to get stored in the onsite refrigeration facilities until they could be identified and placed into coffins for burial.

But during transport from the one truck to another, some crates got left behind and it was only discovered because the smell of the rotting meat got so bad that the locals decided to investigate and unleashed the Cube upon the world.

This would explain the shrinkwrapping of the containers as well, as it would help mask the contents from any of the locals that happened to the lorry being unloaded.

I don't think they meant to create a manmade horror beyond mortal comprehension, it was just a classic Russian logistical f----up that had worse consequences than they normally do.
