That's reassuring hehe. Don't worry too much, if I'm careful and choose my moves wisely, I think I can secure a military firm.

I've managed to stay out of most major conflicts, but I feel stopping the Terran threat is a must.

Do not underestimate the power of the dark side…

The grand attack upon Sol got off to a semi-shit start, this is going to be a long war.
The Terran are strong but the Chimera are stronger.

Good to see the Lob Star showdown going alright though. godspeed to you noble fighters

Likewise. We are indebted to your efforts in opening the wormhole and attacking the Terrans head on.

Why are you trying to exterminate me? I just want to throw virgins into black holes!
Although I'm not sure how virgins would work for my species.

I wanted your system and things just escalated from there.

Enfer
Enix
Gigas
Hydra
Jubatus
Kellar
Nihilus
Richt
Sol
Sün
Taiyo
Teitia
The Vlad
Theren
Titania

Terran Empire – NPC
Tech: FTL, Plasma Weaponry, Atmospheric Terraforming, Energy Shielding, Genetic Engineering, Warp Drive, Dyson Swarm, Climate Control, Fusion Power, Kinetic Weaponry, Spice, The Lob-Star, Red Matter, Crabapults, Ship Pincers, Lattice Armor, Psychic Energy, Psybernetics, Cloaking, Artificial Intelligence, Temporal SMS, Time Travel, Viral Engineering

Titania
-The Lob Star has been fully locked down. Now fleets are able to launch without being destroyed by surrounding Imperium, Arcadian, Roman, and Explodonation forces. What fleets were able to launch have been overwhelmed and either destroyed or forced to retreat to within the Lob Star.

Sol
-Reinforcements arrive and lock down the stargate, preventing unaccosted travel through the system once again.

Twintanirig – Honeytiger
Tech: FTL, Planetary EM Field, Climate Control, Atmospheric Terraforming, Viral Engineering, Cancer Bomb, Warp Drive, Orbital Drilling Laser, Weaponized Catnip, Teleportation (1/3)

Bine
-Attempts to launch builders into orbit to construct spaceships prove to be futile. The Cattonian blockade shoots down any craft leaving the atmosphere.
-Caledonia XI's EM shield has been taken out by nuclear missiles, and Cattonian fighters have descended upon the planet, bombing the colonies constantly.
-The population drops rapidly and steadily until it reaches zero. The Caledonia XI colony is no more.

Requiem – Mr.Stalker
Tech: FTL, Supreme Vodka, Leviathan, Dyson Swarm, Anti-Railgun Railguns, Flying Biospheres, Space Drill (1/2), Replicator, Supernova Research (2/3)

Hydra
-The Chimera are invited to pre-battle drinking parties. Supreme Vodka for all!

Sol
-Three fleets enter the system to aid the Chimera in their fight.
-The fleets are forced to retreat away from the stargate as Terran reinforcements flood through it, and have taken up orbit around Neptune.

The Chimera – Laika
Tech: FTL, Atmospheric Terraforming, Mega EMP, Teleportation, Mega Shield, Super Death Cannon, Wormholes, Teleportation Jammers, Replicator (1/3)

Hydra
-Work has begun on the invention of large-scale replication of items as complex as spaceships.
-The war factories on every planet are working over time to produce as many space faring vessels as possible for the war effort, while simultaneously keeping up the Daedalus project.

Sol
-The battle turns in Chimeran favor when their Ruskie allies arrive, finally securing the stargate and forcing the Terrans into retreat back to Earth.
-Unfortunately, many more Terran and Akash fleets arrive from Kellar and Dipta, changing the battle once more in Terran favor. The Ruskies and Chimera are forced to retreat from the stargate as more Terrans come through, taking up orbit around Neptune.
-The Terrans have locked down the stargate, destroying anything that comes through immediately.

Arcadia – CrowTheMagician
Tech: FTL, Cloaking, Atmospheric Terraforming, Nanomanufacturing, Ion Weapons, Fusion Power, Psychic Energy, Tripods, A Single Vial of Red Matter, Spice Seeds, Warp Drive, City Ships (1/2), Time Travel, Weaponized Black Holes

Titania
-Black hole generators are stolen and weaponized.
-Niflheim and its moons are fortified with surface-to-orbit ion cannons.
-The Lob Star is bombarded with fusion bombs carried by kamikaze pilots and drone ships.
-Ships continue to pour into the fight with the Lob Star from every planet in the system.

Nihilus
-There is no direct route to this system and the only wormholes out of Titania lead to Dipta and Sol. The ships sent on a mission in this direction are destroyed by the Terran Empire.

Cattonia – Madcat
Tech: FTL, Plasma Weapons, Energy Shielding, Power Armor, Dyson Swarm, Fusion Power, EMP, Atmospheric Terraforming, Freeze Ray, Swarm Ships, MegaTurboLasers

Jubatus
-MegaTurbo Laser technology is stolen.
-The nuclear platform launches FTL missiles at Caledonia XI in Bine system.

Bine
-Caledonia XI is blockaded successfully. The Twintanirig fail to launch anything out of the atmosphere. It is also successfully bombarded with nuclear weapons, and the EM shield falls.
-Swarm ships descend upon the planet and perform strafing runs on the colonies until they are destroyed.

Cupitor – TripleA9000
Tech: FTL, Laser Weapons, Magnetic Weaponry, Fusion Power, Artificial Habitat, Energy Shields, Genesis Device, Weaponized Black Holes, Gundams, Quantum Entanglement Device (1/3)

Gigas
-Prasinus I receives massive investment, modernizing the moon.
-Artificial islands are constructed on Caeruleus to increase the habitability and productivity of the planet.
-Albas is transformed into a massive military base. The planet is fortified to the best of Cupitor abilities and surrounded by orbiting fleets.
-Population crowding is reaching an all time high. The system cannot maintain its population growth much further and has been exploited to the near fullest.

Bine
-The Caledonia XI colony has been destroyed, caught in the crossfire between Cattonia and the Twintanirig refugees.

Kadresha – A Furry
Tech: FTL, Mining Lasers, Ion Cannons, Kinetic Weaponry, Drone Bombs, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Radar, Atmospheric Ignition Bomb, Automatic Sandwich Maker (1/2), Kibbles and Bits

Kellar
-The bomb is used on Selvas II. The air burns, and the entire planet turns into a fiery inferno. The Terran Empire is unable to do anything to stop the event once it has begun, and the entire population is annihilated.
-The Terrans retreat from the system, as their forces are needed defending the homeworld more than they are here to exact vengeance. They swear that they shall return and make Kadresha pay for its crimes.
-Another bomb is detonated on Destiny shortly after a large portion of the population is evacuated onto spaceships.
-Some conspiracy nuts blame the government for the destruction of Destiny and Selvas II, but most people scoff at the idea of it, mostly due to the fact that engineered atmospheric ignition is "scientifically impossible" to achieve.
-The fleets leave the system, although not through the stargate, bound for an eternity inbetween galaxies.

The Imperium Collectives – GaryTheStoßtruppen
Tech: FTL, Lightsabers, Twin Ion Engines, Energy Shielding, Turbolasers, Sky Cities, AT-ATs, Power Armor (1/2), MegaTurboLasers, Sky Satellites, Dyson Swarm, SuperUltraMegaTurboDeathLaser (1/3)

Nihilus
-Work has begun on the invention of an even better laser.
-A dyson swarm is manufactured around Revan, and the energy is transfered to the battlestation. This has not only made the battlestation plausible to operate, but has greatly sped up the rate of construction as well.
-Tatoine's entire infrastructure is repurposed towards the production of Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters.

Titania
-There is no safe route to this system, and so travel there is not possible.
-Jedi land on the Lob Star and infiltrate it during the chaos, gaining information on the locations of access ports to the Lithium core.

Grand Zelmizzen – Alice Der Dämonentöter
Tech: FTL, Kinetic Weaponry, Cybernetic Organics, Atmospheric Terraforming, Teleportation, Energy Shields, Cancer Cure, Fusion Power, World Ship, Emotional Ray, EMP Guns (2/3)

Richt
-The fleets return home.

Bine
-Mining of Waelas metals comes into full fruition now that the Knights are out of the way.
-The rest of the system undergoes significant growth as well, with immigration at an all time high.
-Avo has agreed to accept protection from Grand Zelmizzen.

I've done it…
I've successfully secured the Kadreshan race's security and well-being for centuries to come…

Now I leave the game for good. Have a nice day everyone.

I hate to complain, but was the wormhole Laika created between Nihilus and Titania destroyed? Or does it only last a turn? Is that part of the tech? Because if so, I just wasted a command that could've been used for something more important.

Laika never created a wormhole.

Oh, huh. That's what the coalition told me via the inbox. So, the only way we got safely to the Titania system was because the Terrans were distracted by the Chimera attack? I guess that makes sense, my bad then.

how does the Caledonia XI colony being destroyed affect me? And my quantum entanglement device isn't progressing, why? it was at 1/3 last turn

There was a colony of Cupitor living on Caledonia XI. (Actually a colony of Tesser which I labelled incorrectly.) I notified you of that, even if you don't care. They are your people so you should know.

You did not mention tech in your PM, so you gained no tech.

@Stalker,

>The Chimera are invited to pre-battle drinking parties. Supreme Vodka for all!

Mah nigga. The Pure appreciate the help, but if we are to send more reinforcements to the Sol system then we're going to need a seriously big fleet to push back through that stargate and regain a foothold, I saw the attack from Dipta coming a mile off, it only took a cautionary look at the system to see that they had fleets amassing around the stargate there.

In short, send the three fleets you have in the Sol system at Jupiters moons or anywhere where you can cause damage, I'll do the same. On another note I recommend you build a shipyard in orbit around Theyar to build up some new fleets, you've got open access to my resources to feel free to use them. Oh and put that Dyson Sphere of yours up round Hydra, we'll need that too.

@Furry,

>The fleets leave the system, although not through the stargate, bound for an eternity inbetween galaxies.

You know what sleep inbetween galaxies right?

I hope your ships have strong shields….

Always Right wrote:

And then there were seven.

Huh, I'm a little worried. The odds aren't exactly in our favor, though we have some advantages.

I'd like everyone in the coalition to PM me. That way I know who's still on. Is Snickerway gone? Or did he not send in a turn? He was a very important leader in our cause. Nonetheless, I'd like to discuss a plan. I have a few ideas that I need help with because I cannot do it alone.

Also, I plead to any nation still out there, consider the capabilities of the Terrans, Akash, and the Lob Star itself. Shutting yourself off does not mean they won't strike. And when they do, they will strike hard. We can stop their Empire if we worked together. 3-4 nations that have to fight the bulk of the war is unfair.

Yeah, but they're asleep, I ain't gotta worry 'bout shit!

@Gary and the coalition talk,

I'm still apart of this alliance, I'm just helping out with the Lob Star in an indirect kinda way by drawing the attention of the Terran fleets and attacking Sol. When I've managed to pacify the Sol system a bit and beat the Terran presence into a pulp then I'll be quick to send over help.

On another note, if any of you plan to send reinforcements to Titania in the next turn to back up the fight against the Lob Star I strongly advise that you don't pass through the Sol system on the way there. The only reason you managed to get there last time is because I was rustling the shit out of them at the stargate, I won't be doing this next turn however. So if you do enter Sol in the next turn you're gonna need a either a big fleet or chastity belt for you ass

I'm still in. I wasn't able to send in a turn because of some sudden IRL stuff prevented me from doing anything from the end of Friday until now. Nothing much got planned this turn, so we'll have to hit as hard as possible next turn. We can't afford to give Terran any more leeway.

Gary and I will be organizing our plan for Turn 13. If any of you have any ideas or want to join, just contact one or both of us and we'll see if we can fit you in.

Tchefuncte Bonaparte wrote:

I've got 3 fleets still available. Should I send them against the Lob Star or the Terrans?

Message Gary about it. He's the one doing most of the coordinating.

I am sorry to report that this game will not be continuing. I do want to write an epilogue post though, to wrap up the story and put a conclusion on it. Some personal issues, as well as the start of classes, has kept me from completing another turn. I held off from making this announcement because I felt that I would continue this thread soon, but it has become clear to me that I will not. If you want you can send me a final message with commands for the epilogue (general stuff, nothing specific, telling which way you want your civilization to develop) I may write a summary which would essentially be a "final turn" of sorts. Thanks for playing, hope you had fun, and sorry for the relatively early conclusion.

So we can do whatever we want in this last trun without having to worry about the lob star? Also I want to ask how do you make maps for games like these cause I've been thinking of making one myself soon.

I am still taking into consideration the messages you sent for what should have been turn 14. I am assuming that the Lob Star will be destroyed due to the content of those messages, but I have not read them in a while and I have not written that turn so I am unsure. In all likelihood, you should not need to worry about it, and the Terran Empire is on the way out for the epilogue.

As for how I made the maps in this game, it was very simple. Easier than making maps for any other game, as this game was all handled in a single layer using pixel art. Basically, use Paint, or your favorite Paint-like program.

Okay thanks for the news of those guys getting the boot and how to make maps for these games.

Epilogue
Earth Years 2500 – 3500

Through the combined efforts of many civilizations, the Lob Star is destroyed and the Terran Empire eventually crumbles. The Imperium Collectives, Arcadia, and the Romans withdraw from the conflict once the battlestation is ended and return home to be hailed as champions of the stars. The Chimerans and Ruskies press onward towards Earth, and after many decades of bloody conflict finally seize the planet. The Requiem's final warriors settle on Mars and Venus while the Chimerans unearth an ancient relic they had planted millennium ago on the Human homeworld which gifts them power beyond the wildest dreams of any Terran.

The Cattonians continued to forge an empire of their own, conquering world after world in quick succession. Seeing the imminent threat of the Chimerans and seeking to take advantage of the power vacuum present in the wake of the Terran Empire, they strike first in what would soon be known as the bloodiest conflict in the star group. Billions die on both sides, and the Chimerans and Cattonians become locked in what seems to be a stalemate until a critical event changes the very nature of the war. Droresa awakens.

The planet beast moves once again to consume all. World after world falls to the infinite gyre and once mortal enemies are forced to put aside their differences and unite under a common banner to end the Droresan threat. The homeworlds of Cupitor, Roma, and the Zelmissen are consumed before the overmind is put to rest. Upon entering Titania, the Arcadians detonate a red matter bomb, the last in existence, killing Droresa and putting an end to its reign of terror but not without the sacrifice of their homes. No sooner had it been put to rest the Cattonians and Chimerans resumed their bloody struggle.

The Cupitor activate a number of engines known as Quantum Entanglement Devices. These devices have the effect of permanently rewriting random minute details of the historical timeline and altering physics across the universe. They reverse the effects of the travel disruption technology the Tessans pioneered centuries ago, opening the galaxy to be explored once again without limits. Seeking scientific knowledge, new contact with intelligent species, and a new home, the Cupitor embark on a long journey into the unknown.

Arcadians in refuge turn away from the war, becoming pacifists and exploring their psychic powers. Once fully exploited, these powers proved to give insight to universal knowledge which forever changes the mind of those who discover it. Some even transcend their corporeal bodies, becoming like the Wraiths. The Arcadians radicalize into a movement seeking purpose and insight. They abandon what few worldly possessions they still own in pursuit of an astral journey, absconding into the stars beyond.

The Imperium, seeking refuge from the ravages of war, withdraws from interstellar contact for many years before discovering a cosmic power known to them as The Force. The war weary populace abandons their goals of conquest and leaves the Sky Sattelite derelict in orbit, turning to spiritual and intellectual enlightenment. The Jedi become the leaders of this movement, preaching the ways of the force and encouraging the people of the collectives to join them on a journey that reaches beyond the known star systems. None know the nature of what mysterious force prompted them to make this pilgrimage, and they are never heard from again.

The Explodonatians discover ways to colonizing stars to their cores and even settle on stars once thought to be too cold for them to withstand. Their population expands rapidly and they enter a golden era of scientific and philosophical development. Their inventions enable them to transform gas giants into stars, and their population becomes so prolific and active between the stars that they disrupt trade and infrastructure across the star group. Unable to engage in travel very far beyond the star group due to their need for heat refueling, they remain confined to the stars nearby, becoming permanent pests complicating the Cattonian-Chimeran war. Dyson spheres become impossible to construct and gas mining on gas giants is now a thing of the past.

Zelmissen people, forced to evacuate their homes and flee in the newly constructed Andromeda GroßShiff, find the new battlestation-ark surprisingly roomy and hospitable. After a few trades with what few worlds are not destroyed or being strip mined for war materials, the ship is made capable of permanent settlement and the population expands rapidly. A battle with the Cattonians shows Zelmissen leaders that this region of the galaxy is unsafe for their progeny, and they follow the trend of leaving the star group in search of greener pastures.

The Romans become famous for their martial prowess, and gather under their own banner as a mercenary force, fighting for Cattonians one year and Chimerans the next. They expand their forces through war profiteering, purchasing new city-ships to expand their population and warrior class. Once the barrier to travel is removed, a few Romans explore the cosmos seeking new wars to join or worlds to conquer, but most remain in the local star group, as the Cattonian-Chimeran war still has much to offer them.

The Cattonians and Chimerans combat eachother into primitive means, degrading their technology as resources become more scarce. The Romans soon become the deciding factor in the war, giving rapid victories to whichever side they choose to join. Their allegiance changes sides more rapidly as the pay dwindles until there is too little worth fighting for to stick around. By 3500 AD, only the poorest or most adventurous of mercenary pilots remain in the local star group, with most Roman legions having sought out wealthier masters in the greater galaxy. The star group is left to stagnate forever as the unending conflict slowly destroys both parties like a cancer.
