True, but I still do not believe that Neo has illusions, since pretty much everything she has done so far has been replicated by other characters (Except, as previously mentioned, for her teleportation). Her clothes changing was done by Cinder, the eye colour switching was done by Klein, and when you take both of those abilities away from her then there isn't really any evidence of illusions.

(Vol. 2, Ep. 4: Painting the Town…)

(Vol. 3, Ep. 11: Heroes and Monsters)

While we have seen destructible clone illusions elsewhere, we have not seen any other user of illusions that can conceal not just herself, but also subjects in a larger area. (Such as herself and Roman, for example.)

This subject requires more observation and research.

Or alternatively her Semblance can project a copy of the current environment when she teleports, or she can increase the radius of what her teleportation mirrors with Dust. She seems to have a semblance related to mirrors, so she could be using "smoke and mirrors" (E.G: Something that looks like magic or illusions, but is really explainable in a different way) in order to make her seem mysterious and to confuse her enemies.

Assuming that she doesn't actually have a teleportation semblance: Where exactly did she go after she and Roman escaped the first time, then? Were they just hiding behind a random pillar, hoping that they wouldn't get caught? Where did Neo go when she was running away from Raven? Can she make herself invisible? If that's the case, why didn't she infiltrate the Tower instead of Cinder?

I am under the assumption that illusion semblances are rare or even generally unheard of in Remnant, since none of the incredibly well-trained hunters such as Qrow, Ironwood or Ozpin even thought of that idea when Yang broke Mercury's leg, even though they knew somebody was attempting to infiltrate Beacon and cause general mayhem. The idea that Cinder somehow managed to find two of them to work for her is making a very large assumption in how lucky she just happens to be.

In "Painting the Town…", after Yang shattered the illusion wall, the camera pans from Yang (who is trying to figure out what happened) to a fleeing Bullhead with Neo and Roman in the vehicle's transport bay.

As for fleeing from Raven, I am not sure and I don't think anyone (but RT maybe) really knows for sure. Since it is likely her projections work in real-time and are dynamic (instead of a static image in the first instance), she probably managed to "cloak" herself through use of these projections. (Fittingly, manipulation of light reflection and refraction may be a possibility here. Smoke? No. Mirrors? Possibly.)

As for why she didn't infiltrate the Tower, it could be due to compartmentalization and/or assignment. (If fewer people know the whole plan, the less likely it will be discovered if a participant is captured.) She was probably assigned to work with Roman while Cinder, Merc and Emerald were in charge of setting things up at Beacon.

So Neo not only managed to hide herself and Roman from RWBY, but she also managed to hide a giant, loud Bullhead from them as well? And they managed to climb up a rope or something within about two seconds? Why did Cinder even need Emerald then if Neo can use her powers on even more people than her to make them see/not see things that exist/don't exist?

It is likely the Bullhead was on standby in the area for the purpose of rapid evac. (I don't think she concealed that, let alone the noise it makes.) Roman or Neo could've signalled it for evac or it could've been tracking them. (Considering Roman left the warehouse with the Paladin, it's probable that Neo took the airship to follow him.) As for how they managed to board it in that short duration… I'm not entirely sure of that myself. Either the illusions are capable of relaying or play back audio, or they moved very quickly. (Remember that Blake and Sun managed to outpace the Paladin, which also kept pace with highway traffic.) Also, powered winches are a possible factor in their boarding of the Bullhead.

As for why Emerald was needed, remember that different situations require different tools. Let us use the Vytal Tournament for example.

Considering that Cinder needed to sow fear and panic to attract the Grimm, having Neo project an illusion on the size and scale of an arena may be too much for her to handle and it is possible other forms of observation could render the illusion pointless. (Motion tracking, thermal imaging, acoustic detection, Ozpin's magic cameras that can see and follow people, etc.) It is also possible that she could have been out of range to project it on subjects in the arena. (And for that matter, assuming that it affects a radius around her, it would likely encompass other witnesses and possibly not affect them as they are inside this hypothetical radius and render the point of the illusion moot.)

Emerald's use of her semblance on Yang so that she "crippled" Mercury, however, not only accomplishes the task of convincing the public of the ruse, but also convinces the fall guy (in this case, Yang) that she perpetrated the act and thus demoralizes her. (Unstable emotional and psychological states can adversely affect combat performance.) Plus, considering Mercury needed to "disappear" from the tournament, a fragile external illusion would make it difficult for that to happen. (Not sure how difficult it is to simulate damage from weapon's fire with that semblance.)

Neo's illusions would also not work in the Penny vs Pyrrha fight, as her illusions would be destroyed. (Assuming Penny being diced by her own wires was the plan and the scenario played out as such, regardless.) Again, Emerald causing Pyrrha to hallucinate Penny's attack (and eventually accidentally kill her) not only accomplished the goal, but again, also demoralized the intended scapegoat.

Finally, in concerns to that last fight, Neo was most likely busy working on springing Roman from the brig.

So, Ozpin's floating around as a ghost, apparently.

I'm with Qrow in regards to Raven: a real Mother of the Year. I'm honestly questioning why she gave birth to Yang at all, seeing how little regard she has for her. Her being a bandit on top of that is just the icing on the cake.

And the mystery deepens, as not only is Salem after this "Relic," but the Spring Maiden seems to be much more powerful than we were first led to believe. So, will we be getting any answers as to what the Relic is or why the Spring Maiden is so important?
Probably not. Not in this Volume, at least.

I'm just waiting for Uncle Branwen to tell more stories of Remnant and not these fan theories that make people's brains explode.

I just want to know more about the history of Remnant. Or more stories of him in skirt…… that is good too….

Good thing, he's not embarrassed of wearing it. He looks like he's used to this.

Whaaat? Nooo! Obviously Jaune's parents are Taiyang and some chick he met.

Cause you see, Salem is a sick bitch who likes to hunt her preys, one by one. Though personally I would hunt the winter maiden cause Fall>Winter>Spring>Summer. Or maybe she hunts them by increasing power levels, which means Fall is the weakest maiden. And probably Salem will try to put all powers into one person, Cinder, not cause she wants to see Cinder strong but cause she's curious about what happens… probably Cinder will explode into bloody meatchunks after some Cat Transcendence-esque lightshow…

The explosion would be anticlimatic. Unless is in battle or something similar, maybe.

Then don't bump the thread if you have nothing worthwhile to add? Is that too difficult to do?

Beside, that’s none of your business where we roleplay.

Lol, of course it is, the rules clearly state to keep it relevant, roleplay is barely relevant anywhere in the site and it can get you warned, certain roleplayer did get warned for doing so in a serious debate thread, good luck becoming a mod with your poor grasp of the rules ;o

Last warning, don't derail this thread with non-RWBY stuff

I said this earlier somewhere in some user's wall but I'm going to say it anyway.

-The Grimm World might be the embodiment of Hell itself and the Grimm are it's demons.

-Salem must be Lucifer or Satan (Fun Fact from somewhere in the Bible; Lucifer and Satan are the same person.) since she acts like Luci here. What I know from my perspective, Salem must've existed in the pre-human age of Remnant but was casted out by her people by doing malicious and mischievous things. She probably accidentally or intended to dip herself into one of those Grimm spawners and came out the Salem what we know of today. In the Bible, or that damn webcomic I just read, Lucifer got caught doing malicious and mischievous things and got kicked out of Heaven by his father God or his fabulous angelic brother Michael. He probably grown his horns after touching the surface of Hell.

-The evergrowing hate from Ozpin by Salem is the same reason why Lucifer here hates God himself. Hm… If Ozpin is God then Oscar must be Jesus. Ever thought of why Ozpin enroll and train Hunters that are sworn protectors who fight of Grimm just for the sake of humanity's safety? God also wants warriors to protect Heaven and Earth from hellish evil by fighting demons everyday. Can Oscar turn flowers into wheat?

-Hm… The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Conquest is Cinder, War is Tyrian, Famine should be Hazel, and Watts might be Death himself. The reason why Cinder isn't war because… Did you even watch what she did? She made an entire army to buttfuck the shit out of Beacon Academy.

Let me know what you guys think?

Seeing how this is most likely the best place to find fans of this series on this site, I have a question for you all regarding this series.
See, the other day I remember looking around at Walmart when I found them selling RWBY on disc. This honestly left me rather puzzled. Who would actually buy a disc version of this series when you can just watch it on Youtube for free?

So, my question is have any of you actually bought the disc version of this series, and if you did, why?
I'm just genuinely curious.

I haven't, but I think the disks have developer commentary on them and behind the scenes footage. Since Roosterteeth employees are actually kind of famous, some people might enjoy listening to them talk.

Plus, I guess some people might like to watch it with their friends, which is easier on a TV then on the computer.

Well, if no one else will talk about the new episode, I guess I'll do it.

I had a feeling that once we met Blake's parents, we wouldn't be seeing much more of them. And from the events of the most recent episode, my speculations might not be too far off the mark. If those fox twins painting a line for Adam to follow straight to Blake isn't enough of a death knell, the fact that her parents (or Kali, at the very least) are voiced by professionals, who tend to be on the somewhat expensive side, almost certainly is. Granted, they may not die necessarily, but I still don't think we'll be seeing much more of them, and I'm not gonna hold my breath on account of their survival.

Not to mention the fact that Tyrian's finally entered the scene. The question now becomes, "How long will it take before he catches up to RNJR?"

With that said, I'm hoping the volume will start picking up the pace. We're just shy of the halfway mark, and I really can't imagine RT needing any more time to set things up.

I'm assuming that the next episode will be the direct setup to the action (Tyrian will be stalking Ruby, Adam will arrive at Menagerie, ect), and the next episode we'll see some s*t go down.

That said, I hope it doesn't extend for too much longer than that. They've been setting up for over half the volume, I want to see something happen.

(I'm probably going to regret saying this when Sun ends up impaled on Adam's sword or Nora is beheaded by Tyrian)

I think Sun and Nora are safe- most likely, Ghira and Kali are the ones with the targets on their backs. After all, if Blake's gonna rejoin Team RWBY like so many people are predicting her to, she's gonna need some serious motivation to do so. And what better motivator would there be than attacking her at her home, the one place she felt safe, and killing her parents, giving her literally no one else to turn to?

I'm expecting for Menagerie to be attacked or the target of a White Fang mutiny or something, forcing Ghira and Kali to flee with Blake. I'm only saying this because they're on a ship with Blake in the opening, which, admittedly, isn't the best thing to use for predicting events.

At the very least I'm pretty sure they'll survive until the last episode. Miles and Kerry did say that this would be a more lighthearted Volume. Parent murder isn't really that happy, in my opinion.

Yeah, because creators have never lied to us before. And after the last volume, I don't expect RT to pull any punches.

Not sure if anyone else has talked about this yet… but I have some thoughts about Yang's arm. Copypasting from my comment about it:

Is anyone else kinda disappointed with how Yang’s arm has been handled so far? Like, her weapons were fist-based. Her tactics were pummeling enemies. Removing an arm would make for both an interesting plot point and a great message about disabilities – it’s not the end of the world. You can work around it, or even through it.

Instead, they pulled Atlas Ex Machina and made up a super special arm that just straps on and works like a real arm, apparently. It feels cheap and misses out on so much opportunity. Since we now have the arm, without some sort of “oh it messes up, apparently it’s really hard to make a perfect robot arm” the possibility for a good message about being disabled is dead.

The only thing that seems to have changed is that Yang now has PTSD, which does have lots of possibilities for good messages itself, but the fact that they missed out on other possibilities is a bit saddening.

Honestly, I was hoping that she would end up learning how to fight one-handed, or that she would end up using kicks instead of punches, so that she would go from the strongest member of Team RWBY (Arguably) to the weakest one that has to stay calm and think about how to beat her opponents. A robot arm was expected, but I wanted it to be given to her at least at the end of the Volume, after she gets into a couple fights, not at the start.

Well, maybe Dr. Watts will have an EMP semblance or something. He could use it on Mercury's legs when he tries to run away, and then it can be build up for when Yang ends up fighting him for some reason.

Well, it's been established that fully functional artificial limbs exist in Remnant, so Yang would have to be insane to not use one. Which, to be honest, I was expecting to have been a plot point: she got a prosthetic, but refused to use it out of a stubborn sense of pride (which, needless to say, isn't how things turned out).
That said, it's entirely possible her PTSD might hold her back. We'll have to wait and see.

Simple… Qrow fights Tyrian, but ends up being forced to protect RNJR, who are liabilities in the battle. The fight ends with Qrow getting slashed across the face, blinding him, and backup arrives in the form of Raven, who proceeds to leave immediately.

Unfortunately, Nora and Ren recognise her, bringing a whole new slew of angst along with Qrows sudden blindness.

So Tyrion has a Solf spot for eyes? Qrow will surely be angry for being unable to protect team RNJR anymore…. also leaving them unprotected (duh!).

Okay heads ups! Since I'm unable to find the post you got to trust my words. This year due to the holidays the last RWBY episode will be on December 10 (11 for non-sponsors). If the timing comes out like that we maybe get a World of Remnant before next year, otherwise in January the show will continue.

And according that I suspect we might get a mid volume show down.
