Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach is the most recent game in the Five Nights At Freddy's series of horror games, developed by Steel Wool Studios. The game was released on December 16th, 2021, to massive critical praise for both the game design and expansion of lore in the game's universe.
History
The game was originally announced during the fifth anniversary of the Five Nights At Freddy's series, with a teaser trailer being shown. This teaser trailer was later uploaded to YouTube by the official PlayStation channel[1] on September 16th, 2020, where it received 10.5 million views in one year (shown below).
As the release of the game got closer, more trailers were shown, with PlayStation[2] again showing more of the game during its "State of Play" for October 2021. The trailer gave more in-depth looks at the main characters present within the game and received 7.7 million views within two months (shown below).
Reception
Release
The game was released on December 16th, 2021, with many fans of the series immediately posting about it online, as well as leading up to the release date. The opening cutscene for the game was uploaded to YouTube on launch day by the channel AJBRUN,[3] earning 2.5 million views in three weeks (shown below).
On Metacritic, the game received a score of 5.9, classifying it as mixed, with most of the negative reception being from bugs that were found within the game during launch week. Many of these early glitches were present in the true ending of the game and were very noticeable during Markiplier's livestream playthrough, culminating in him taking much longer than usual to beat the final boss (shown below).[4]

After a Twitter user posted a still of Freddy Fazbear making an Among Us reference to the game's main character, Gregory, the post inspired others to make video parodies of the imagined scene.
Sundrop / Moondrop
Sundrop and Moondrop also known as Sun And Moon and The Daycare Attendant, refers to an animatronic antagonist from Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach that has a clownish appearance with a sun for a head when the lights are on and a moon for a head when the lights are off. The character is a mascot for the Superstar Daycare and Sundrop and Moondrop candy. As Sun, the character is friendly, but as Moon, he is aggressive. Sun is fearful of becoming Moon and desperately tries to keep the player from turning off the lights. While the character is simply named "Sun" or "Moon," in-game it is often referred to as "Sundrop" or "Moondrop" by fans because of the candy.
Vanessa
Vanessa is an NPC character who appears in 2021 video game Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. A nightguard at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, Vanessa is one of the antagonists in the game who is trying to catch the player. Following the release of the game, Vanessa gained notable popularity within the Five Night's at Freddy's community, inspiring fan art and spawning White Woman Jumpscare meme.
Roxanne Wolf
Roxanne Wolf or Roxy Wolf is an animatronic wolf character and one of the primary antagonists in Five Nights At Freddy's: Security Breach. She has a punk, glam-rock aesthetic, plays the keytar and wears purple-and-black zebra stripe legwarmers. She is portrayed as narcissistic and self-centered, but also has self-esteem issues. In the game, players confront Roxanne in "Roxy's Raceway," a racing-themed room. She has inspired works of fan art, memes and become a favorite character from the game.
