Halal Movie Night, also known as Inshallah They Find Him, refers to parodies of a crude clip art style poster that advertised a screening of Finding Nemo 2 as part of "Halal Family Movie Night." The poster, along with the catchphrase "Inshallah they find him" became the subject of edits and parodies after it was first posted in April 2021, subsequently becoming an exploitable meme format.

Origin

On April 12th, 2021, the Instagram^[1] page @ramy posted the earliest known image of a poster that read, "Halal Family Movie Night," "Finding Nemo 2," followed by clip art of a clown fish and the phrase "Inshallah they find him." The since-deleted post received an unknown number of likes (seen below).

The image was reposted multiple times on other sides, as seen in an April 12th post by X @jujuhabashy^[2] that gathered over 175,000 likes in three years, and a post on the subreddit /r/Izlam^[3] that gathered over 3,000 upvotes in the same timeframe.

On April 13th, 2021, Tumblr^[4] user cowboy reposted the image, gathering over 120,000 notes in three years (seen below, left). On July 14th, 2022, Redditor^[5] /u/HardBoiled0 posted a version of the meme referencing the movie Gone Girl to /r/okbuddycinephile. The post gathered over 400 upvotes in two years (seen below, right).

On March 13th, 2023, iFunny^[6] user MDETV posted an edit referencing Lord Miles, gathering over 1,000 smiles in a year (seen below, left). On March 14th, 2024, X^[7] user @LoftUSSR posted an edit in reference to Missing Kate Middleton discussions taking place online at the time (seen below, right).
