Sheldon Lee Cooper You Dog or Sheldon Lee Cooper You Dawg is a series of brainrot memes based on a scene from the 2018 sitcom Young Sheldon in which Sheldon's brother Georgie tells the family that he has a girlfriend and his grandma says, "Sheldon Lee Cooper, you dog." Memes based on the scene were popularized on TikTok and Instagram Reels in mid-May 2026, including memes that use an edit of the scene where Sheldon's grandmother says the N-word instead of "dog."

Origin

On March 8th, 2018, Young Sheldon season one episode 15, titled "Dolomite, Apple Slices, and a Mystery Woman," aired.^[1] In one scene, while Sheldon (played by actor Iain Armitage) and his family are at the dinner table, Sheldon's brother (Montana Jordan) claims that he has a girlfriend and that he's seen them together at school. Sheldon's grandmother (Annie Potts) says, "Sheldon Lee Cooper, you dog." In the context of the episode, Sheldon starts eating lunch with a girl named Libby, and his family teases him by calling her his girlfriend.

On May 15th, 2026, TikToker^[2] @kenjorps824 posted a brainrot edit based on the scene, where the quality has been purposefully diminished, and numerous filters have been applied to it. The edit also features the brainrot meme Spoony Spoonicus (popularized online around the same timeframe) and ends with an image of Sheldon with the head of a dog. The video gained over 15 million views in 10 days.
