I DM'd This Girl… refers to a copypasta which reads, "I dm'd this girl and her boyfriend sent me this back." The original post is paired with a guy punching the camera before jumping on it with his bare butt. After the video appeared online, people parodied it by making their own videos with the copypasta, usually using more safe-for-work subjects.

Origin

On June 5th, 2015, Twitter user @_Hxxder posted the video with the text, gaining over 239,000 retweets and 585,000 likes[3] (embed NSFW, not included).

Spread

On June 6th, 2018, the video appeared on Reddit's /r/BetterEveryLoop[1] and /r/Funny,[2] saying it came from Facebook. After the post appeared online, parody versions began spreading on YouTube and Twitter, with the majority appearing on the latter. Of the latter, a post by @KyleeHenke recreating the video with Inuyasha gained over 16,000 retweets and 35,000 likes (shown below, top). User cherryrides posted the meme with a giant teddy bear, gaining over 50 retweets and 90 likes (shown below, bottom)
